When I towed my Kendon behind a 1/2 ton Yukon/Suburban I lost 2 MPG. Behind my Dodge Ram gas mileage is about the same (still terrible).

I keep my Kendon outside and have not noticed and significant deterioration of the paint or frame. Mine is a 2004 dual rail model with the front storage box.

I long ago gave up on the Kendon ramp. I use a 43" by 7' ATV ramp. Makes it extremely easy to load. I probably should dismount the spare and throw it in the truck. Haven't needed it yet.

Overall I am very satisfied with my Kendon. I bought it used in 2007 for $1500.

so I have taken the trailer up to Canada and back to NYC. handles well. I had a bit of bounce at 55mph but above and below it was smooth ( have to check the tires balanced or not). I have the 3 railed new dirt bike kendon got it for 2150. think I did not like is you have request the kick stand (was not aware it was not apart of the trailer) After the trip I added LED lights, cost more then the standard lights but they seem much brighter. I have loaded a r1200gs and a G450x with no issues.

Hi there! I have an 06 single rail kendon.. I usually take my Ducati st3s closer to destination as my wife hates long highway hauls... Recently I got into offroading
And would love to tow my dr650 and klr250 on the trailer. Has anyone came up with the 1 to 2 conversion?

Update to my original review.

With less than 1000 miles on the trailer I am replacing both sets of wheel bearings tomorrow with Timken Bearings and seals. The Chinese junk wheel bearings have all failed, what fucking junk!!!

Interesting on the bearings. Mine started slinging grease the last two hauls. Guess I need to follow your lead on good quality bearings.

Now my next issue is when I have two bikes loaded the wheels are leaning in at the top. WTF ? They caused my last set of tires to wear on the inside third of the tread. Any way to shim this setup to correct this ? Put new tires on and I normally only haul one bike so the lean in is not very noticeable.

Kendon Trailer

I'm in market for a Kendon, all issues aside, my question is: Can the older dual bike trailers (1998, 1999 etc.) haul one bike safely? I know the newer ones can, but am not sure about the older. Would be hauling a 1200GS. Cheers

Could you please let me know the part numbers for the bearings and seals? Where did you buy them?

Thanks!

You are not going to have any issues with them assuming they are well maintained. I had a 1997 Kendon dual stand-up before I sold it to get a 2004. I used to trailer a 1200GS and 1200RT, or 1200GS and my buddy's HD UltraClassic for over 1000 miles on interstates.

I have a line on a 2000 Kendon single rail.
I think it's weight is 300lbs.
Gonna want to tow my 250# KTM behind a Prius....
I've read all about pulling behind Priii, do's and do-nots.

Anyone else pull on behind a small car (with small bike)...?

No, not behind a Prius but I once pulled two dirt bikes accross North America behind a Fiat 124 Spider. Not with a Kendon trailer but with that experience and having owned a single in mind, I would think a Kendon single would be my first choice. My old single and my current 16 year old Kendon dual, track beautifully loaded and a KTM 250 would hardly be felt.

That's what I'm hopin'.
If all goes well I'll have it on Saturday.

I've looked at alot of fixer-uppers, home-mades, crappy lightweights, that are lighter by maybe 50# and all have the 12" and under wheels.
Considered doing the Harbor Freight kit deal. Money spent, then spend some more to get wheel bearings and everything right.

At around $1200 the used Kendon just makes sense.

Kendon

I have a line on one for $1500. Not sure if the trigger should be pulled. This thread makes it seem hit or miss. But, I am keen to get something rather than spending the $300 at U-Haul every time I want to go on a trip.
