where to get a Material Safety Datasheet for shipment

Valued forum,
following my previous link on bike shipment by air...
As it looks, if I might have found a solution,
However, I was asked to provide a Material Safety Datasheet.
Since there will be many forum members who have shipped bikes by air.....how and where to get that (BMW F 800 GS).
Would I get it through my local BMW dealer ?
Thanks
Uli

Maybe this actually refers to the “DG paper” or Dangerous Goods Certificate? And if your shipper doesn´t know what it is, and where to get it, then find one that knows...

Quite old, but probably still worth reading:

(Dunno if every question regarding this one freighting needs a new thread tho...)

Should be able to get it from the manufacturer. Good luck with a dealer.

Msds

Material Safety Data Sheets normally refer to a product such the oils in the bike and the fuel. If you do in fact need these just give me the details and I can get the info for you, but I suspect what you are looking for is a Dangerous Goods Manifest.

Thanks Peter,
Really happy to get all the usefull info.
Though it seems I have not yet found a suitable agent here in Singapore that seem to be ready for bike shipments by air, one agent told me the MSDS would be required.
So if you could provide me any further information on that, I would appreciate.
Its a BMW F800 GS, and I am planning to fly it from Singapore to either New Delhi or Kathmandu (whatever works easier)
Also, my Singapore BMW dealer is quite helpfull, though I am not sure if they would be familiar with that stuff only crazy guys like us are doing.
Rgds

All available as downloads

As indicated before, an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) usually relates to substances of a chemical nature, the document is published by the manufacturers or distributors of the product. Easy to get with a simple Google search for each individual substance. In a modern bike this will be for the Fuel, Oil and Radiator coolant.

Shipping to Nepal

You should look at you options out of Bangkok. Thai Airways or Trans Air Cargo will ship from Bangkok to Nepal no problem at all. Shipping to India can be a real hassle especially by ship as to get the bike through Customs can be a very long and frustrating task. Thai Airways may also ship from Singapore.
