Read the thread, and see what Rob has set up to get the files out to people. It is in the thread.

You need to friend Rob on fb. (I had to set up a fb account just for this purpose.) I still tell people I'm not on fb, though.

Going to take a stab at some of the southern portion this weekend, leaving from NYC. Weather is looking perfect!

I am planning on slabbing all the way to Cape May (or close like Middle Township) and going North on the route.

It will be my first time riding down in the Pine Barrens. Looking to do dirt as much as possible, avoid traffic and camp away from people as much as possible on Saturday night.

Any tips? Justron's report above was helpful...

The closer you get to Cape May, the more pavement you'll encounter- pretty much ALL paved within 25 miles or so. Normally you can make-up time on the pavement, but not down there. Speed limits are very low, and tons of LEO's. Riding from Brooklyn to Cape may in one day would do me in... that's a pretty ambitious ride- good luck!

Yeah, other than seeing the lighthouse itself, like Ron is saying..the bottom portion is really not even worth it. I do not have a lot of offroad pictures in mine, due to "sensitive" issues, but see my report in my sig to get some more info.

Also, do you have Sand riding experience?? There is a lot of it in the southern parts and may be hard for you if you are not used to riding it.

Yes I do. Am no MX pro by any means, but we did a few hundred miles of it in UT/NV back in July. My DR will be packed quite a bit lighter for this too. I think I'll be fine as long as I don't bury it.

Where North of Cape May would you guys suggest I jump onto the route? I don't care about sightseeing at the tip of the state; just want to ride the good stuff with my limited time.

Yeah riding to Cape May from BK seems like a bitch, but I'd rather start the trip with it then end up on Sunday at 2am on the Parkway.

I guess an alternative plan would be to start in "the middle"... where exactly does the mostly-dirt portion of the TNJT start?

Thanks guys.

The route has changed a couple times and it has been a while since I did it. Let me check my GPX files and my pics( which most did not get posted), and I can get back to you. IIRC, something like that last 30 miles or so was just paved roads.

I wanted to start with as much dirt (er, sand) as possible, yet as close to Brooklyn as possible. From my calculations, it was Jackson- right behind Great Adventure. (That would be the start, if you are heading south.)

As far as I could tell from looking at my stuff, from my trip, just abut everything below Maurice River area was pavement. Hope that helps.

No RR for me, but please see my Instagram for some choice shots. Starting in Jackson was a spot-on recommendation! Such a SICK weekend trip... I kinda want to do the same ride again this weekend!!!

These are the kind of pics the greenies use against us.

I can't believe how many times I have to say this on advrider.
