Thank you folks for the information on duct tape. I really did not think of it that way.

I just figure they are ignorant fuckheads and ride off. It's easier that way for me.

Then I'd have to give them a geographic lesson on the location of Austria.
You mean Australia right? When people ask me where my KTM comes from and I tell them Austria, they say oh nice, G'day and any other line they can think of from a Crocodile Dundee movie. Then I just give up and move along.

So, yes, as Dakez points out, unless I was in AK
or HI I was full of it. Happens I was in Hawaii, so his BS call.... is BS, lol.

There is more than one HD dealership in AK so I think HI is the only state that meets the "only dealership in 2,500 miles" requirement.

There was a dealership on the Kenai Peninsula not from from where I lived and I'd bet money there is one in Anchorage.

Edit: one in Anchorage and one in Soldotna... Only 150 miles between. Hawaii gets the fewest pirates per square mile award :-0

Just kidding. I don't think you (pink lady) are a pirate. But you should be, imagine how cool it'd be to speak pirate and drink rum.

Duct tape is good on long trips when you run out of Pepto-Bismol.

I used to have pretty long hair, and ran into several guys who started conversations with me about my bike while I was getting gas only to immediately lose interest and quickly dart back into their cars once I turned to face them and opened my visor (I'm guessing they were surprised by the mustache).

Apparently you missed the "years ago" part of the original comment. All four of the main islands have Harley dealers now.

I've heard that one too. Australia? Cool

How did you get it all the way to the US?

Or KTM? That's made by Kawasaki isn't it?

No

But Kawasaki owns them don't they?

Yea, sure. Have a nice day.

It happened today. I was minding my own business at the gas pump when I was assaulted with stupidity.

Young guy, early 20s on a Hayabusa, pulls up next to me while I'm taking the gas cap off the Husky (TR650).

Dude: Hey bro, cool bike.

Me: Thanks.

Dude: That thing is all, you know, like an enduro, but with plates. What is it, a 250?

Me: No, it's a 650. Still a single though.

Dude: Nawwww, you're screwin' with me. They don't make singles over 250.

Me: I suppose you're not a dirt bike guy?

Dude: Naw, bro, I just got the Busa.

Me: Well, the make singles in all sorts of sizes up to 650. Next time you're at the dealership you should check them out.

Sent from the voices in my head and transcribed by their drinking buddy...

Gas stop this morning for a quick splash.

I figured it was a kid (turn around)
nope nope nope nope

Woman in her 40's. I said I didn't think pedals would help -

"well isn't that how a bike stays up? the pedaling?"

wow I guess so! (come on alu gas cap cover don't cross-thread on me now!) fire and leave.

Are you waiting for the day someone gives you a "I eat Green Berets for breakfast," "Hasta la vista, baby," "If it bleeds, we can kill it?"

Better yet, "I need your clothes, your boots and your motorcycle."

Don't know about him, but I'm waiting for that comment.

Can't blame him but a guy at a sports bar asked were I got the body kit for my b-king, thought the whole thing was aftermarket. He was quite confused about the indicators on the side of the tank and the stock exhausts.

It must have felt pretty creepy when you realized these guys had probably been checking out your ass.
