After spending twenty five years on the road I have several observations:#1, big difference between having a room "booked" and actually ever occupying that room. #2, the "fair market value" of that product changes minute to minute literally and you are likely to receive a credit for the amount you paid as soon as the "fair market value" exceeds that particular hotel chain's loyalty to you is reached.

Rush

So, in typical US fashion, NH in particular, I was the only one in the theatre on opening night for the late show. While some white trash movie had half a theatre full. And I wonder how these idiots get elected? Well, a couple of the theatre employees came in and lasted all of 10 minutes. Then it was just me again. Which was fine, no distractions. I imagined with all the hype, I might have a hard time getting a ticket....silly me. I guess Opie is not as popular as I thought he was in drawing in the disinterested masses.

I give it two thumbs up and think it was pretty fair to Hunt, and Lauda. Of course at the time, I was all in for the guy in the Players car. (and he got some mentions, of course) But, I was pretty happy that Hunt won back then, and was pulling for him to take the WDC. I got a new appreciation for Lauda other than a great driver, great engineer and asshole. While all that may be still be true; it was pretty intense, very graphic and gave me a new appreciation for him. I had long considered him a puss for parking...after making the heroic comeback. As well as for Hunt, deeper, than the common perception. More than just WDC's, it was well done towards their motivations. Compared to the Senna movie, I think it is more reflective of reality. Although being a Senna fan, I was not put off by the obvious slant to the movie. Even though I recognized it. I think Ron Howard did a great job with this one and is very much a must see for even a casual race fan. I hope that it will garner even more interest outside that niche in the days to come. It must have cost a mint to make, the credits ran for about 12 minutes with all the different crews who worked on it. I was hoping to see some outtakes, so I stayed through all that to get blue screen. So, you can leave, there is nothing to see when it goes to credits.

Very nice write up.

I went to a late afternoon show here in Lehigh Valley & I would say about 40 people were in the theater. But than again, F1 is not huge in the US. If they only turned left....

Lastly, I think it'll do well with the female contingent as they'll want to see Hemsworth. My lady went with me.

Sent from the basement. Hey Ma more meatloaf.

That's great feedback, thanks.

Congrats to Vettel

I'm not a big fan, as I always hate when 1 person dominants a racing series. But got to give him & Red Bull huge props for this year & past 3.

Poor Mark Webber.

Great race in India today.

Sent from the basement. Hey Ma more meatloaf.

Hopefully their suspension-based traction control gets a little more exposure during the off-season.

Reasons why a Red Bull won the driver's title:

1/ Adrian Newey.
2/ Red Bull's budget is bigger by far than any other team's.
3/ Pirelli changed tires mid-way through the season.
4/ Sebastian Vettel.

Vettel continues his great season with a dominant win!

And we'll see if Alonso can keep his 5th place finish after the pit release to track.

News reports that F1 in NJ will NOT happen

FIA/F1 will make decision at a meeting in December.

But some points on why it might not;

3 races back to back > Monaco, NJ, Canaduh - Not sure if F1 has ever done that. Though - I think it could easily happen - From NJ to Montreal, even by truck is less than 8 hrs. (I drove up in '06 with a buddy from NNJ to Montreal in 5 hrs - no speed limits were broken )

GP America has been mostly silent

2015 will probably happen, but Hindery will most likely either get others to help with $ or be out all together.

Too bad - I think a race over looking NYC will be really cool and the $ that it would generate with NYC Metro area would be unreal.
