Saw my first FZ-09 in person today, on the road.

pulled next to him (in another lane as I was turning right) honked my very non-motorcycle standard horn, and he looked over at me, I yelled, 'that's the new FZ-09!?' he nodded and said he'd just gotten it, then the light changed.

Guy riding it musta thought I was a loon, cause he grinned when I said he was a bastard for having one before me, then tore off like a bat outta hell.

Oooh, I want one so bad!

Want

When the first pics we're floating around.....one of the first I'd seen was the black with purple wheels. I hated it at the time.

........right now I'd love to get my hands on a black with those purple wheels.

I've decided that while not the best color...it'd sure look sweet in my driveway!

I'm actually thinking of one of the purple ones available here in Euroland. :)

I am so buying those mirrors for my Honda 919. They look great.

Yamaha typically uses left hand threads on their right side mirrors, they'll loosen rather than break off if they take a hit from the front. And it looks like these have the indicator notches on the lock nut above the mount.

The FZ-09 is on my short list for my next bike. I need to find a dealer close and look at it in person.

I played around with Photoshop... I think if I got one, I'd want this one:

Get the one with the blue wheels then buy the orange tank, which I hope is just a plastic cover. Otherwise it might be cheaper to get the orange one and have the wheels powdercoated. :)

Then he wouldn't get the gold forks or the raised YAMAHA on the intakes, as the wheels are part of that bling package.

I don't like the gold forks; that's one of the turn-offs about the Yamahas of recent years.

I dunno if I REALLY want the orange/blue combo or not. I keep going back and forth about it. It's a neat idea I guess.

But good point -- lots of people will want to be rid of the blue wheels.

Gold forks resemble Ohlins, and that makes them the hot item. I've had bikes with gold, silver and black forks, and that didn't seem to make the bikes handle any differently. The orange with black wheels, I do like. Reminds me of an XR1200 I once owned...tp

I like it, thanks! One other difference with the orange is the grey frame, the red and black both have black frames.

I'm with ya..........gold anything (forks, calipers, rotors, etc.) does not belong on a motorcycle IMO.

Aprilia made a Tuono a few years back with a gold fork, calipers, & frame. NONE of the gold shade was the same. One of the worst looking bike in history IMO.
