Is there a good site for weather forecasts in Baja? Heading down tomorrow for 4 days and would like to get an idea what the weather could be like.

I'm in Mazatlan right now taking the 16:00 ferry over to La Paz. If you see a big guy sweating profusely riding a 1200GSA with Washington plates that would be me. I've seen a chance of thunderstorms and afternoon showers in the forecast for southern Baja later in the week.

How long are you going to take coming up out of Baja?
I'll be crossing into Baja in the next day or so, bound for Mazatlan.
If you see yourself Going South, Pull over, I am a big guy 12GSA, Washington Plates.
I'll give you the Road Report...

I've got a max of 10 days to make it back to the border. I'm the big guy riding a 1200GSA with Washington plates. What part of Washington are you from? I'm a card carrying Washougalian from Washougal.

I am a Ballardite, right down the street from Rays Boathouse Restaurant.

Scott...Please let me know if Mike has pannier stickers and t-shirts available. When I was up there in may Mile told me he would have some available the next time I came to the Sky Ranch. A ride report on how deep the water at the crossing is would be nice to.

Thanks

Theft last night

Well it finally happened. This is my 6th trip to Mexico and I finally had something stolen off the bike. Last night in the hotel parking lot in Cabo San Lucas some one (probably kids) popped the half cover off my bike and rifled through my crash bar bags. They took a combo padlock I use to lock my jacket to the bike when I stop at a store. They were kind enough to leave the custom cable I made to run through the sleeve. They also took one other very important item. A small ditty bag that I call my emergency shit kit. The ditty bag contained a small container of diaper wipes and some hand sanitizer. It pissed me off for about 30 seconds and then I just shrugged it off and laughed. Stealing my shit kit......really????

This could have happened in any big city anywhere in the world. So to answer the question posed by the name of the thread, is Mexico safe. Yes it is.

Im sure there is a Home Depot here in Cabo where I can replace the padlock. And even though the emergency shit kit has been a constant traveling companion of mine for years and has seen many overnight river trips and motorcycle adventures its easly replaced and makes a pretty good story to tell. How many other ADV inmates have had their shit kit stolen? :)

Hah! Good one!
No worries, Pemex sells them. Well, actually the little old lady outside the toilets does, you can get a new one for $3 or $4 pesos, but now they are single use. Gold Wing riders and some KLR pilots know a way around that, though.
