We stayed in Enterprise at the friendly and clean Ponderosa Motel.. Awoke to a bluebird day and walked about town a bit to see the sights.. The County Courthouse is a nicely cared for building and grounds with this cool veterans memorial out front...

Around the inside of the circle are these nice benches, lots of them..

Around the outside is this...

Other sights in town

Got 'Q loaded up and we were off!

Nice Views down toward Bend, OR.

After a night in Bend, checking out a few pubs, on Saturday morning we got motivated and made our way to the Newbery Crater. The viewpoint up top is a bit of a rough ride, but the views are worth it :

We then motored the extremely boring Hwy 97 until we got in line to wait..

But the wait was worth it..

We couldn't have asked for a nicer day to see the Crater Lake! We cruised North toward Bend again, getting thirsty, but on the way we took the Cascade Lakes By-Way around behind Mt Bachelor.. This is a very worthwhile side trip... Lots of info on on volcanic this 'n that, and great views...

Time to get back to Bend...

Sunday am we had to begin the trip towrd home.. Tri Cities (oh boy) to Q's sissy's house..

But on the way there we stopped by Smith Rocks state park, this is a very popular spot amongst climbers, hmmmm wonder why:

Then the we trotted off toward Antelope and Fossil, Or. Some of the best riding ever is on these roads..

Too soon the fun stuff ended, and with a bead of sweat on our brows we blasted across the 95 degree desert toward TC, WA

the end!

Spring Time! Kind of..

I did manage to re-install the battery, pump the tires, and kit up for a chilly ride Saturday morning. I buzzed over to the motorcycle show in Spokane. Besides the all real live pirates, the most interesting thing i saw there was this little gem.

I think its a huffy-davidson, that or an early KLR (pre milk crate era)

I got out of there and decided i ought to take at least a short foray out into the hillsides.. Along the way i seen this rednek duck blind (is that redundant)

A moto mailbox..

And some pretty views, you can still see the skim ice..

The roads are self policing with their gravel lane dividers..not too fast there son.

Well it just good to get out. Cheers!

Almost Spring Time!

Technically it is officially Spring, by what the calendar indicates, but to me it seems like we have had a lot of cool damp and windy weather.. Yea I know, take a look at the map and notice that I live only 90 miles from the great Maple Leaf Republik... we are way up north! I should be used to it by now having grown up in Michigan, or maybe just becoming more sensitive to the cold in my old bones.. BUT things are slowly getting better and i see all the cool riding pics being posted, has me airing up the tires and oiling the chain!

The last two weekends were dedicated to cycling miles, but we hit a few cool spots and on two wheels, so I will share a few of the pics...

Our ride out the Peola, WA road last Saturday was glorious..we rode from Lewiston ID, this would be fine motorcycle road too

Its an out and back route:

The views and fresh air!

The end of the pavement.

Last weekend I had some bike activities.. Saturday was a bicycle day of sorts. Our team was on the hook for volunteer support of the Ronde Van Palouse race. It made me tired just watching from my escort vehicle.. couple pics i took of the course.. 45 miles of this.....

On road bikes...

That is a tough ride!
