A Road Food Mini-Saga

Early Sat morn, the SIL shows up with the hog to make a planned "sausage run" to get some area-notable smoked sausages. It is a nice leisurely 100 plus mile run via some twisty back roads and the weather is compliant (low 50s with a chance of mist/fog/chili).

Late in the morning, we arrive at Pekarski Sausage Company (look up the reviews on Yelp) and load the hog with smoked kielbasa and andouille sausage for later consumption.

This makes us hungary, so we head down the road to this country store and gas station (picture taken a week earlier) for a late breakfast.

As was eagerly anticipated, Helen served up two heaping plates of eggs, hash, bacon and toast with mugs of steaming coffee.

Having food in bag and belly, we spent the afternoon riding around in the damp, drizzle and fog thinking it was a beautiful day and then went home and ate chili. Life is good. End of story.

Isn't it amazing how the simplest of things can bring the greatest pleasures?
