Cured the buffeting. clean air as fast as I am willing to take the Vstrom.
It's ugly but it works. Found inspiration with the fairing bolt on of the GS and Stelvio with some looks at old honda and kawisaki fairings.

Here is the 07 I just bought from Happy Trails in Boise ID. It's only got 3500 original miles on it and it's sitting on their showroom floor waiting for me to fly up there and ride it home. Dang work get's in the way all the time.. Can't wait to farkle it out.....

Once I fly up there and ride it home I will get some photo's of it dirty... This is the best it will ever look...

What did you make this from? Was it preformed or did you do the forming yourself? Do you think 3M Dual Lock strips will hold it on for easy tank & fairing removal?

It was maybe the last good weather weekend this year, and I felt an urge to visit the yellow-red-brown forest of the autumn.

It's starting to come together well. Just a few more tweaks and upgrades should be complete.

Made them from the cheapest acrylic I could get my hands on. Easy to bend with a heatgun and a pair of gloves. cut the shape out with poster board first, bunch of pieces all taped together where I wanted them and then cut the acrylic with a scroll saw. I've taken the tank off with them installed easily. If I have to take the fairing off I figured using fishing line to slice off the tape would work easily enough. I didn't know how wide I would need to make them, I experimented with V shaped pieces about the same place as the shark mouth stickers would be with some success but these ugly things make it a totally different bike. brought it up to 90 mph without seeing them move at all.

Picked up an 06 DL650 last night. It was a cold ride! Very different from my SV, but I like it.

Here is my addition

I rode all winter last winter, this was on the county road to my house. Studded TKC-80s, they don't plow much up this far.
