[QUOTE=eakins;22557820]after the success of AIM Expo this year (all the industry people i talk to are very excited and positive for it. it will be THE place to show off next years goods)

I can't wait. Good move to have it at the same time as Biketoberfest in Daytona Beach. Being only 65 miles and just an hour or so down the road makes for a larger audience. Bikers like to ride and the venue at Orlando is great for the Manufacturers and Vendors. Everyone can bring the family, sell some product and have a good time...

I get to test ride bikes I would normally not ride or ride to see if it's my next bike. DL 1000, yes... $42,000 Harley?? not so much..

Seems like a win/win to me..

Mfg just just continue to keep dropping out until IMS is not viable anymore.
I think that is a mistake for the industry. The IMS shows go to several cities in the US and are attended by the bloodline of the industry, the consumer. It occurs in the winter, so our riding club meets at the show to sit on the new bikes from the OEMs. Typically one of us, every year, buys a new bike a few weeks/months after the show.

just my 2 cents.

i don't disagree with you, however the IMS shows are dropping off in major cities over time as are the mfg who show at them. if enough mfg drop out things go downhill real fast & the other ones still in question if these shows are a smart place to spend $. there is a group mentality into something as well as getting out of something. this is a recipe for future biz failure.

trust me your one buddy buying a bike a year ain't keeping the lights on.
they'll just show new bikes at AIM and then at the dealers in the spring often with a factory truck offering test rides. if anything expect to see a AIM west coast show in So Cal as So Cal is the largest MC market followed by Florida. all the rest are small in comparison including your corner of the country. this AIM is both industry and consumer shows like they do in Europe.

IMS would only fail in CA if AIM came along and replaced it. Over the past couple of years the IMS show has gotten bigger. Hell, even KTM made it last year. It's a great show.

We too meet as a group on Friday afternoon, down a couple of brews and some wings, and walk to the opening. Been doing it for a decade.

I think I read somewhere on one of the Euro or Oz sites that it was 400 watts. As for price I'm shooting for something below 12k off the bat and to get lower as the season progresses...

Oh Boy I hope not, if they left it as is, then I think it is a deal breaker for me.

I'm looking forward to this bike. Hopefully the reviews will be good. I have a couple DR650's that the wife and I ride, and a DRZ 440 that I also have alot of fun with.

Don't know how I missed this.... Suzuki is actually showing dirt road riding in this promo... Now, that's the first time I have seen them 'deliberately' showing a v-strom-anything on non-tarmac.

can't believe we don't have any moles at AIM. I think I'll post in Jo Mom and see if anyone confesses. There is a Suzuki outdoor pavilion there, apparently doing rides.

Wow!

A useful front fender and an available skid plate. Rear fender leaves you dirty though. Forks look decent. Center stand. Hope it has at least 100hp. 500lbs would be good too. Like to see someone in that video who can really ride put it through its paces on those dirt roads. Hokey, pokey doesn't cut it. Come on Suzuki, get me off my S10.

[QUOTE=RED CAT;22575984]A useful front fender and an available skid plate.

Yup, put the "fenda extenda" guy out of "bidness"

Forks look decent. Center stand.

spec's say it's bigger and the center stand is optional...

Hope it has at least 100hp. 500lbs would be good too.

Yup, 100 hp and 502#

Come on Suzuki, get me off my S10.

I'm curious what the 2014 Tenere's gonna do. Got to wait till Nov 4...
