It's not going to be easy with those tires, any knobbies optional?

Half a dozen of those things set up the same way would be more fun than the law allows.

tires are oddball, 120/70-12 & 130/70-12, and tubeless. haven't found real knobs yet, closest so far being these:

perhaps install studs and cut and old tire for lining and run a tube?

are there studs that are shallow enough to run in this tire, and still run tubeless?

That tire wouldn't be any good, need some spacing between knobs.

Really looking forward to the ice this year. Looking to bring a group of you hardcore types to the steel shoe endurance race in WI if your game for a road trip? We've sure had some good times on the ice

Last year at the Ice Box, Greg on the 250 smoker and me on my 690

The SE, the best ice bike on the planet

Cuz Jim and I

Steel shoe

Mike at the shore

When it comes to riding on the ice, I'll do whatever it takes

Depends on what you're doing and how fast you want to go.

I definitely want to try this this winter. I have an XR400R that would be great for it. Now I just need to track down some affordable ice tires.

Kold Kutters in a Kenda ice tire rear and a Dunlop K490 front seems to be the combo of choice for those who race.
The taller screws work better on dirty ice but are illegal for most racing.

I was hoping you were going for the SE this year.

Tall screws as Nate sez. I love these. Hook up like a pro built tire. If yer not racing, who cares?

Check clearances on the swing arm. You may need to go with a narrower tire to fit the screws. Also check muffler, etc. clearances when suspension is compressed. The screws will eat right through them.

You could just use the screws I already have to finish the front tire, and use the set I've been offering you for 2 years.
