Due to work I missed DCH's Swell loop but snuck away the following weekend for more mayhem with Kowboy and friends... Didn't take alot of pics but a few highlights:

The whole thing started with an appropriate split board core sacrifice...

Which was followed the next two days by a bunch of this...

After endless carb/idle issues on my honda and then sunday riding Kow's backup 520 MXC, I think i've swallowed the orange kool-aid and the Honda is headed for KSL, she is a great bike but not ideal for my ideal kind of riding...

Lots of houses around the bikes in the last pic. Yet there were many pics of riding in the desert...in a lake?

Where was this held?

How did the course go? Learn much?

How were trail conditions? Tried Stansbury Front single track today and couldn't ride the entire trail due to snow/wet. Guessing that Timber Lakes might be similar?

That is sad. That means the ridge is probably a mess. Already.

It was held in Pahrump, NV. We met in the mornings at Jimmy's place. He had lot of bikes there as well as support vehicles. They also prepare lunch their for you there the first day. Most meals are included in the course.
We would do a rider briefing then head out to the desert and ride in different terrains.
We did most of the exercises in turning, breaking, and balance on an enormous
dry river bed. Then we would go to different areas that had sand, silt, and hills, to learn other skills.
Besides the basics he showed us how to unstick your bike when dug into deep sand. We learned how to turn around on steep hills if stalled. We practiced going up and down hills at angles and then shutting the bike off and balancing it to get is back down safely.
I learned a ton but I'm not that experienced off road. There were all level of riders there and no one was complaining about the course content though.
He had four or five other helpers there so they could run many drills at a time and break the group up for "hard rides" as well as easy ones. Good time, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to polish and learn new skills.

Man are we getting ripped off when you see NV prices on Liquor. Too bad my bags were full

Spent 8 awesome days in SE Utah with Spokenerd (Dave). Fell over plenty, didn't break anything and came home a much better rider. Was a very sweet week. Tough to be back now.

Yes, that was us. I admired how easily your group floated by us. I was having a blast out there but nothing was ridden gracefully! The weather was ride perfect.
