GS on the TNJT

we have done day trips on the TNJT from North to Trenton on Metzeler "Tourance". I don't think I could go farther with out Knobbies. We are doing the south sections on our "little bike". TNJT118 would be a "mother" on my GSA even with Knobbie. One good thing is, it's easier to pickup a bike when the wheels are in a deep rut!

No matter what tire, and/or what bike..the technique is still the same...gas it and go. Lean back and steer bike with pegs. I know..easier said than done without knobbies.

Sounds good.

The rule I'd use is you can ride whatever you want north of I-195 without much drama.

There are a few seasonally maintained sections here and there---and some rocks up around Passaic county--but it's do-able on a V-Strom.

South of 195, like is said, you'll have some interesting times without knobs. Still, IMO, big bike friendly for the intermediate rider...that sound right?

Sure.

I first rode a dirtbike on sand in 2006...HATED IT...swore dirt biking riding wasn't for me. I got the bug again in 2009, and bought a DRZ from a friend. Found a good group of riding buddies, and learned the sand pretty well. Took a couple times out..but there was the ah ha moment, and you realize the words people are telling you, and the actions you are finally doing, have all come together.

Now, I thrive on sand roads like the one above. Most people slow down when they get in the soft stuff...I grip it and rip it, and hold on..usually passing people as I go. ( Its OK, they pass me back later in other sections).

I also love the sand, Iv raced and done very well at Wildwoods Thunder in the Sand motorcross race twice a year since the race was held.. I also have a Glamis trip planed 👍😜.

Iv raced and ridden MX & Woods type riding for 25 years but I am a noob to the adventure bike world ..

I'm really looking to plan my very first adventure bike trip that covers miles with some mixed dirt and roads and High Point is basically in my yard..

Sorry if Iposting this in the wrong spot, but I figured someone on this tread might know. Looking for a route of dirt roads or at least back roads that I can connect Connecticut with the Northern section of this route thru NJ.

If you down load the TETS you mind posting the section that does this connection I remember last time I downloaded the TETS it kinda took over my GPS and I had to delete it all.

I'll try but I don't know if I have the skills to break up a route. I'm still trying to figure out how to follow my routes/tracks on my gps

Looking forward to riding parts of this in April or May as a warm up for the Roaming Rally. I sent my request for TET files tonight.

I live in Bucks, not far from Tinicum. Would love to ride from home to South Jersey with Minimal Blacktop.
