New Buel Ulysses—2016?

Great to see EBR getting so many people excited at the AIMExpo yesterday. The new 1190RX is impressive. I held the under 4lb rear subframe on edge in one hand, extended outward like it wasn't even there.

But for me there was one special revelation. It was especially exciting to hear from an EBR rep that a new naked and an adv bike are planned within the next couple years! I came so close to buying a XB12XT until the Harley dealer pulled some "deal denial" crud.

Buell is so great at rethinking the norms and innovating. Especially now that their are no corporate overlords shooting down many of Eric's most essential design choices. Can't wait to see what they roll out, even if it has to be at a premium to my flawlessly reliable V-Strom.

I don't think it's gonna be that long. Various people at the AIMExpo reported hearing spring 2014 as the release date for the SX (naked) and fall 2014 for the AX (adventure bike), and that EBR says they will have a comprehensive line of motorcycles by 2017.

It's gonna get REALLY interesting...

I was thinking of trading for a SuperTen in the spring, But after riding one this weekend on the blue ridge parkway that a guy had camped next to us and feeling underwhelmed and bored, I am glad to hear something new on the horizon worth waiting for!

That Ulysses will probably have Rotax engine. I hope it will be as much if not more fun than my 2007.

It will not be a Rotax. The water cooled 1190 V-twin is designated the "ET-V2", and the ET stands for East Troy. While it shares the basic architecture with the earlier Rotax, EBR is now building the engines in-house.

I'm with you, I rode a demo bike last year, after getting off my uly that thing was sooooo boring!
May have to have a big sale to raise funds for a new bike when this thing comes out.

Ride a flashed one before you decide or regret it forever.

This was the second ride in 6 months on one. The first time, it was with few miles and not flashed. This one had 9,000 ish miles on it and and was flashed, (or so the owner said) VERY noticeable difference compared to the first ride.
Don't know, maybe it was altitude, but wouldn't think 3500 feet would do much to it.

Erik is making engines in house! That guy never stops to amaze me. I love inovators with a great passion for what they do. Especcialy when they are passionate about building great motorcycles. Go Erik!

My #1 riding buddy has a 2006 Uly that I have been on several times. I'm pretty tall so it fit me well, but the paint-shaker vibes at stoplights were a big turnoff.

Admittedly that does take some getting used to. If the 1190 is as smooth as the 1125 (and it should be) that characteristic will be completely absent.

Easily fixed with a couple of decals on my mirrors:
