Great job guys! It was a blast racing against you. We were very confused at the end. Not sure what happened there? But You fought a good fight and our team has much respect.

Quoted from RedBastards write up:
Lap times
Lap times varied as night fell and thick fog rolled in. Fastest lap for the HeavyWeights team was 53 minutes. These guys were incredibly consistent. There were some very tough rocky (boulders) sections, tough on a lite weight dirt bike, I don't know how they did it on a 500lbs Adventure bike.

Official result was a 2nd place in Sportsman Class and 17th overall out of 96 teams!

Pit row Saturday morning

The pit, it was busy, but everyone was ready to go out for each of the 25 laps completed.

This is what awesome looks like when you line it up.

These guys can ride

It was a great race that's for sure, there ended up being a transponder issue that created the false win. What team were you on?

I'm a Knuckle Dragger. Just wanted to let you know you guys did a great job on those big bikes. We weren't sure what class to enter so they told us to go with the sportsman class. In hindsight we probably should have entered open expert. One of my buddies said he had a blast going head to head with one of your guys out on the course. He'd get ahead on the corners and you'd blow by on the straights.
Fun race. I wish we wouldn't have lost the better part of a lap to a flat.

Didn't mean to put the crying guy at the top of the post, just after the last sentence.

After several hrs of riding and one rotation, things where a little down in our pit, but thanks to the quick work of Konflict Suspension and the help of our outstanding pit crew we rebounded and kept pushing on.
Could you elaborate on this? Why were you down, and what did Alex do to make everything OK?? I know he makes a mean margarita but I doubt you are referencing that

Congratulation boys!! Sounds like you done damn good. 17th out of 96 teams (95 on proper dirt bikes)! That is damn good!!

If I wasn't working every weekend, I would have loved to have seen this!

We pushed the KTM suspension past its limits, I broke both adjusters (not sure what the correct term is) on the bottom sides of my forks, The body literally split and I rode my entire first lap with nearly no front suspension. John then broke a rear shock reservoir. Then a few other issues that were overcome with ingenuity.

We truly pushed past the limits of what these bikes are capable of doing mechanically, just entirely too much force.

Have you seen the photo of Radek jumping his 990R over 6 feet in the air and flat landing?!?!

As told from a KTM/WP Factory suspension tuner over the weekend:
"You guy's are NUTS, weve only seen failures like that in the Dakar bikes!"

All in all we were able to overcome the failures and continue with the race, with a 17th place overall and second in the sportsman class.

I had a blast racing with you guys, What makes this race so much fun is the people you meet and the good will to your fellow racer.

I'm already getting in shape for next year....

What a blast! It was a riot to pass bike after bike out there and know that you were leaving a roost a mile high!
