The linke is from Sportbike.net and in the years I've then there a search shows Markk9 (retired Eagle driver Long Live the Eagle) has had many brushes with death including crazy LEO's in pickups to kamakazi bicyclists taking him down on top of the TWO F15's he lost in DS. I have to remember it is the internet.

I have had two close calls with the grim reaper. 1st, during desert storm, my aircraft got hit by a MANPAD while doing a close air support mission. 2nd, while working as LEO on a drug bust, I was stabbed with a knife with a 5" blade, 2 times in the left side of my abdomen and 1 once in the left chest. Being stabbed was a surreal experience, it really didn't hurt, left like I had the wind knocked out of me, then I passed out, came to a few hours later after surgery. I'm lucky to be alive.

Case closed, as far as I'm concerned. I've worked with a couple of chronic liars. Repeatedly telling tall tales -- really tall tales -- was their MO. This has that same feel.

I'm getting way off thread here, but the first chronic liar's stories were somewhat similar. He claimed to have flown attack aircraft for the Air National Guard and also to have been a cop of some sort. While also, somehow, pursuing a career as a TV news photographer and eventually becoming a news director. Busy guy.

News is reporting a passenger just fell out of a Piper (PA-40) somewhere around Tamiami Airpark, into the Atlantic. Pictures at 5.

I've got the TV on but haven't seen any pics. The PA-40 was supposed to be a successor to the Twin Commanche I think, but I've never seen one. More to this story I'm sure.

Complete with radio traffic. Guy opened the door and fell out.

Yeah. And no sense of urgency in his transmissions, either, really calm.

Sounds like an assisted suicide, maybe.

How do you open the door of a flying aircraft? The wind rush keeps the door closed, unless it is a sliding door. Very difficult to push it open far enough to allow a person to exit.

I call BS...
