Grom, where's that - the colour of the water, maybe in NZ / North island perhaps? Stunning in any case!

From my research unless you have a time machine, its impossible. They changed the policy several years ago.

Buy one that already has a current plate. That's what I ended up doing.

Battery Options

I already have a hi-output stator a the BD kit with battery. My entire bike is running all DC including the headlights.
It has the standard ni-cad baja design battery that is so popular.

I am looking to add several accessories and was wondering about the batteries capacity. The majority of the accessories will only be used when the bike is running. I'm looking to add:
B.D. Squadron headlight. 44 watts (4.2 amp)
GPS
Handwarmers
Fan (5 amp)
Helmet Light
Possible heated vest.
I will be running most of the accessories through a Denali fuse box.

Does anyone see a possible concern, especially with the little ni-cad battery?

It all depends. Slow riding you may drain the battery, quickly. If you are keeping the rpms up, I don't see an issue as long as you do not exceed the stator's output. I would not expect it to put out a full 200w except when in the upper end of revs.

I myself would not have a helmet light. To much weight causes neck fatigue. Change that LED to a 50w HID and you will not need the helmet light.

Actually, the LED light should be enough to replace the existing headlight and should produce more visible light than the 50 watt HID bulb, be less finicky and last longer.

I agree. The HIDs are voltage sensitive where the LEDs operate great from 9-40 volts and have close to the same draw. The new LEDs are super bright.

What kind of helmet light are you planning on using?

The ni-cad battery has very little storage. With the bike off and all the lights on the battery will die pretty quick.

Finally got one. Been lurking on this thread for some time now. This thread is a gold mine of information on this bike, thanks! Anyways bike is 2002 CA plated and appears to have very low miles. Decent set of mods so far. One thing it seems to be running lean. I got an excessive amount of decel popping. Got worse when I pulled the spark arrestor. Could be an exhaust leak too. Need to check it out.

Side note: Anyone interested in the 4.6 tank? I would like to go to the Sahara tank. PM me.

Agreed.

HID puts out a ton of light for little wattage.

Couldn't you run Lithium Ion batteries?

Nice bike - looks pretty mint :)

I think decal popping is from running rich? Un-burnt fuel. So opening your airbox would make it leaner, but I think this is a terrible mod - just lets in more crap. Invest in jetting - the standard kit is listed on the pig-pen site :)
