A few photos on the way down;
Such a feminine pose

Yarrow growing in abundance at our break spot;

Sign at the bottom of the trail, which didn't show the road above that we were on.

We drove on up and over one pass on pavement towards Alma to head to Mosquito Pass

The North London Mine:

The roof of the mine;

Way up on this photo below; you can see the building atop the hill that was part of the mine;

I seem to have a fancy for wood

Eventually a house was build for some of the workers, and these photos below are from that house. It appears to have been a chicken coup attached to the house.....

A few more of the house;

One last look at North Londo, before we ascend Mosquito Pass..

It was pretty rough to get to the next mining spot on Mosquito, I wasn't too sure I was gonna make it up in one piece. But the DR was a trooper and made it to the next break point, where lots of equipment is still there and rusting away...

In the above photo, this was the actual railroad that led to the mine shaft of North London Mine. The slope was slight, and made it that much easier to walk out on, while the backs are to my back & slightly lower than the road while taking this photo (hope that made sense).

A structure of the mine operation from the rail bed;

Looking back the way we had come:

These little guys where everywhere!!! I finally could get one on camera;

We left again and as I was getting closer to the top, I kept thinking it was a breeze. Until we got to this spot, talk about jarring you bones! This rock never let up. Brent was in front of me the whole time, riding faster than I was up the bulky rock, not remembering his Happy Trails were sticking out

He banged the hell out of the left side case on a massive rock, just below where the DR is in the below photo and man! I'm surprised he was bounced right of the mountainside! Nearly gave me a heart attack, it happened so fast.

But we got rolling again... towards the top.
Just shy of the the summit we stopped at the marvel of this;

I reckon people from out yonder don't wonder at the marvel of a patch of snow atop the mountain in only one spot. But it was pretty neat....

Our view from the parked bikes;

We walked over to the ice...

to find it really was ice!!!

All that lava rock...

The summit we made it!!

The grave of Father Dyer, who's sub drove a Scout....

& Me at the summit, I don't own a Scout, but I can drive one, in 4-wheel drive if need be...

Beginning the descent towards Leadville...

The mole city, in the side of the mountain ..

A photo from the detour getting into Leadville;

Lunch at the Tennessee Pass Cafe in Leadville on the main drag...

& Seriously?? Kum & Go Gas?? I couldn't help myself...

My favorite:

Because this is called a "power pose" . It gives you energy. Good pic.

Obiwan ~ That is my favorite photo of myself. I'm not a good, "photogenic" person, but that really is my favorite.

Thanks

Oh boy! A gal who rides a DR, appreciates International Scouts, AND fancies wood? What's the quickest route from WY to TN?

Loving the RR!
