Does this mean that taking all the legally owned firearms from the citizens doesn't stop all violent crime?
Is it not amazing that some people think nothing of hijacking a thread just to regurgitate their own political (and non-motorcycling) viewpoint?...

We speak the same language (I think)

first, do you aussies call all bikers - "bikies" or just motorcycle gang members?

second, is that pronounced "bye-keys"?

Seems as if your law enforcement has been infiltrated by those said bikies-

depends on who you ask - my wife calls me a "gentleman with a bike license"

the second bit it correct.

The first bit is sorta mostly right for everyone, especially when most people don't care and stereotype everybody. Pretty much the same as I do to everyone who only holds a car license

Where? Here in Ohio all is pretty decent. There are a lot of idiots on parade both screwing around on sport bikes and blatting around at full throttle on V-twins "sharing the thunder" with those that don't want to hear it. But the cops really don't do as much with it as they do have laws to deal with it before it reaches idiocy.

I will say some states have hit idiocy, like the "no standing on the pegs" laws where a guy pulling his underwear out of his ass or just standing to stretch legs gets pulled over. What a waste. There are reckless op laws in virtually ALL states that can deal with riders starting stunts, but apparently some cops aren't intelligent enough to know how to do so - or alt least that's what the legislators think. I guess the cops that pull over a rider who is obviously not a stunter probably are too ignorant.

Good luck with getting your "three is a gang" law dealt with.

Some time ago .. Queensland had some law about meetings of 3 or more people requiring permission ... Anyone for bingo? That government finally got voted out of office .. despite the gerrymandering.

Some pollies think they need to introduce new laws to prove they are doing something. And they think a new law will solve the 'problem'. Thus we have a patchwork of laws rather than a systematic system. The reality is we need a reduction in the number of laws, the remaining laws need to have restrictions in there application removed, and the laws then actively applied across the board.

Reality on the ground? The cops have enough to do without pulling over groups of bike riders .. unless they think they are part of the 1%ers. Or young and stupid (either the bike riders or the cops or both).

On a straight line they'll never meet .. yet to see a political straight line, flat plane or anything I'd consider normal ... so I suspect that the far right will meet the far left if they go far enough...

They are two means to the same end. In both the government has total power and the people sacrifice. In one it's for the good of the country; the other for the good of the people, but either way the individuals get the shaft.

QUOTE=concours;22697237]I read this thread over at the Notrun board.. figured it could use some discussion/publicity in a BIGGER forum. This shit just sucks...

"Mate the world has gone mad, looks like I wont be able to enjoy a ride on my Norton with a few mates.

In an attempt to crack down on unlawful motorcycle gangs our state government (Queensland) are about to bring in new laws that will effectively brand all motorcycle riders as unlawful.

They intend to pull over law abiding riders and harass anyone that rides a motorcycle in a group of three or more.

Unless you do the following each and every time you go out for a ride.

"Motorcycle riders will now have to ring a police hotline number if they want to ride in groups of three or more in peace."

So, if all the riders called the police any time they went for a ride (to work, home, grocery store, etc) the system would be overwhelmed. If you're checked and riding alone, just shrug and say, "My mates didn't show so I left without them. Sorry!"
