OK... I dusted off the Gerbings and plugged in. My Triumph said it is officially too cold this morning. (The Throttle stuck)

RIDE RIDE RIDE
Yeah, the Scrambler made me late today. Ran the battery flat with nary a pop. Put it on the charger, ran out and pushed the button every five minutes until it finally fired and caught. Brisk ride in, but damned pretty. Everything was so....crisp.

Riding ????

OK yesterday the high was +9 [almost noon and then -8.7 at 1600; this morning under clear skies it was -15.7...hell, I can barely go out for walks let alone ride! OK, no complaints, living hell here is outstanding...just in the shoulder season, not enough snow to backcountry ski and too damn frigid to ride [not to mention glazed ice on roadways].

Snow squeaks and is not melting but sublimating....too cold for a water phase

Today at 1450 hrs....in Joseph...colder here at my home.

Temperature
9.6F
Feels Like 10F
Max 9.8F at 2:18 PM
Min -15.3F at 3:32 AM

I thought you snow skied?..........................................or do you just do that in warm weather?

It was 19f when I left my house this morning..............................I'm pretty sure I heard my bike moan when I cracked the throttle on the short stretch of the county road heading into town.

All of a 1/2 inch here. Just enough to cover and hide the fookin holes that Lexie and Ruckus dug in the yard all Summer

I'm no old timer here in Boise. We've called this home for about 11-12 years. I don't recall it ever being this cold during that time. It was 2 degree f. on our back deck this morning. As luck would have it, the antifreeze solution in the old truck seems to have lost its -- anti -- I think the thermostat froze. During a run to the store, it began to overheat and the vent hole on the overflow bottle was squirting solution. There was an unusual sound coming from the area of the engine where the thermostat is located. I hope I didn't crack the head or blow a gasket.
I'm not big on wrenching in the cold. I had my fill of that in the army.

The road I wanted to ride got about 2" of snow over the last few days. Hiked part of it with the dogs and it was a slippery sumbitch in places where the puddles had frozen over. Can't see 'em because of the sugar snow on them.
Saw lots of coyote tracks, one fresh set of bobbie tracks, and a probable set of big cat tracks. Was trying to get a close look when all four dogs came over to see what I was looking at.....
Think I'll go predator calling next weekend.
