Should Overland EXPO 2013 be on this list ?

Its a really cool event. May 16th to 19th Flagstaff, AZ I have been to the last 2 years. I have no financial interest in the event.

I'd like to nominate Dual Sport Desert Daze.

www.dualsportdesertdaze.com

It started here on ADV, it's organized on ADV by ADV'ers and is primarily ADV folks who come.

There's no registration fees and 2014 is the 5th year.

Shameless plug for the Minnesota North Shore Shindig (MNSS). It's going on year number 4, and it is organized exclusively on ADVRider. (Check my signature for URL) We've purposely scheduled the MNSS weeks away from the Central Rally to give inmates options for both. MNSS has been averaging ~40 riders per year.

Looks like a great event, but the first sentence in your link is "Once again www.GravelTravel.ca is going to host the Roaming Rally", with a link to a site that does not mention ADV at all (but has an online shop).

But that's just me, it's not my decision - it's up to the mods to come up to decide.

Though it's mostly on road (there are dual sport loops too) RoadRUNNER's Annual Touring Weekend is pretty awesome (yes, I work for RoadRUNNER, but it's seriously a ton of fun) http://www.roadrunner.travel/events/touring-weekend/

Question

Hey guys.. I live in central Mexico so which one do you recommend me to assist as the best, important and biggest rally in the US?... Perhaps we can make a group of riders here, send the bikes to the Mexican-US border and then drive all the way to get the rally area.

Best regds!!

A quote from the first page of the thread posted in 2010;
"Here's one criteria I think all adv annual rallies should have . They should be a ADV gathering , not a rally that is organized by non advrider.com folks that some adv'ers might attend . I see alot of those every year that post an event that is an ongoing event that ADV'ers want to attend and want others to know about , but they are not adv rallies-The Party Boss AKA Rick"

This made sense four years ago and still makes sense now. If you want to go to a bike rally, well they're pretty easy to find. But if you want to attend and be a part of an ADV rally (which is put together by and is for ADVriders and their guests) then the current criteria should stand.

There are lots of awesome motorcycle groups and organizations out there (ADV is one of them) but an ADV rally should be an ADV rally not just another motorcycle get together.

I cant help but to be passionate about the subject, I feel that ADV is an important part of my life and don't want to see it get watered down.
