I checked it out yesterday too... boy there was a lot of attention around this model. As a R12R owner I was looking forward to feeling the differences. I really liked the overall feel, and I liked the narrowness of the tank - felt my knees tucked a bit more comfortably. The bar sure felt wide ... but it could have just been the slightly different lean to the ergos.

My opinion of the look in person - good, but not great. I love the front end, but the air intake piece, though covered with the shroud and better then it looks on my R was still a bit goofy IMHO.

I really wanted to see the S1000R but it wasn't shown. Chatted with Max a bit about price, but no dice...

I'll wait until spring and ride them both. Problem with the 9T is that it really only replaces what I have now so it will all come down to the ride.

I sat on this last week at the NYC bike show. I loved it for the most part. It looked awesome - raw but refined somehow.

I waited my turn and sat in it; my buddy took a picture if it for later. When I poked at it I realized that the bike looked like a toy I'm a fairly decent sized guy, at 6' 259, but i looked like I had just climbed down the beanstalk on it.

I still like it and will give it another shot. I'm hoping it was just the angle.

Interesting that it's so small. Having lived in Germany for a couple of months, I think it's safe to say, on average, that the locals are pretty damn tall.

My wife really liked the looks of it and put a deposit on one. This is all good news to her because she's 5'3".

Price for it here in the UK (including VAT) has been posted at £11,600 - see link below:

http://www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/motorc...fications.html

Using today's exchange rate that's just under $19,000 USD!! It will of course be cheaper in the states as everything is over there.

BMW UK is smoking some good stuff. S1000R with every option still ends up being cheaper than the bare bones 9t.

No, it doesn't have linked brakes. ABS is standard in the UK though.

After months drooling over it, I came away disappointed. I'm 6'1" and found the bike wayyyyy too small. Too low, and the way my legs hit tank was meh..

And the GF hated the pillion accommodations.

Sitting on the NineT and the R12R back-to-back (and factoring in the luggage options on the R12R) made the R12R way more appealing.

Granted, the front end of the NineT is still gorgeous, but overall it just didn't feel right.

Hell, the KTM 1290 was more comfortable.

But, of course, YMMV.
Interesting to hear.

It does look much smaller in pics with real people on the bike. Almost looks as small as my Monster. Which makes me wonder how the NineT will be cross-shopped against Ducati as a naked bike with an available accessory network.

Will have to see it in person, but I have a feeling I may be content with my Ducati, so a few farkles from Italy might be easier on the pocketbook this summer.
