I had some pretty nice stock shocks before too but the real reason for the switch was the ability to tune them. I am still working on dialing them in now but they are already nicer than the stock ones, especially with the big tank full of fuel.

Stock suspension

Looking for some sag info for a stock suspended 2000 with very little miles or wear.
I am about 180 lbs with gear and althought the bike feels great for the general trail and dual sport riding so far I will be riding it in the upcoming Sandblast Rally which is basically fast sand Forrest roads with the occasional deep ruts and large dips in terrain.
I would like a range of the correct static sag and rider sag from those that can help.

Might be the bike is set fine but as the second owner and the fact that I have never touched it the time has come to make sure.

I think 80-100mm of sag is good. You really need to revalve it, and you will find the recipe for the shim stacks somewhere on this thread. That is the biggest improvement you can do to this bike.

Hey gents, can someone guide me on my jetting? The bike's been running fine, but it's always had a slight hesitation between the pilot and main circuits and popping on decel downhill. Now that it's cold, it's acting hard to start and the idle floats all over the place.

Uncorked, vented airbox (SRC perforated number plate) with a full Big Gun pipe.
68s pilot
178 main
B53e needle with clip on the 2nd notch
Primary riding area 30 ft - 4,000 ft.

Long time listener, first time caller. I've been reading this thread for several month in preparation for a D/S conversion I'll be wading into after the first of the year. I really appreciate the time you inmates have taken to write this stiff up. As a very small, random token of my appreciation, I've got a FMF Titanium4 slip-on up for grabs. I took it off to go with a quieter model. It's dinged up a bit, but hey, it's free. Cover some shipping for me, and I'll ship it out right after Christmas. Hey congratulations on your XRR! Your going to love it, and that's cool your going whole hog on the deal and building it up as a DS!
