thanks chris.

you know i am wondering that on some big events, they don't have organized group rides. is there any liability issue or just not enough ride leaders?

just a reminder to all joining the group rides. no one is responsible for you or the result of your action other than you. in as much as we know, we take you to places that you will enjoy the ride, however, the terrain in death valley can change in one season or after 1 big rainstorm. if you feel it is too difficult, there's no shame in turning around, better be safe and sorry.

if riding within the national park boundary, there are rules (not mine). please stay on the designated roads. if you do anything illegal, the whole group will get the blame. there are challenging terrains outside the national park and if you want, i can tell you where they are.

always keep in mind, any inappropriate action of one will reflect on the whole group.

DISCOUNT COUPON CODE - Rocky Mountain MCATV sent me a code good for 10% of the entire purchase, not just one item. Exclusions apply to Klim, tires, alpinestars, and other big brands.

If you're a noobish rider, it's yours by sending me a PM.

I need to throw back an "empty chair." I had a buddy (spot 10, Mikey113 Guest #2) officially cancel.

Question about tires out there. I am thinking of getting some Heidenue (sp) k60s or super enduros. Maybe some mefo's. How will this tire hold up out there. It is more of a dual sport rally tire than it is a street tire.

On a 690 these will be fine in the rear... I prefer a bit more grip in the front, like a 606 but a good rider can handle a front K60 no problem.

Pinch flats are a big concern on DV dirt roads.

when you get your tires, always good idea do the install yourself. there are a few tires out there that are tougher than the others. though i've seen some guys made it look easy doing tires such as the dunlop 908s that i thought were tough.

i like the dunlop 606 front and rear, they're not the best off road tires. choosing tires is always a compromise.

The 606 tends to cup pretty bad early on - must have something to do with the pattern. 908 is reported better. Many raves about the Pirelli Scorpion Rally (front only). Also good life shown for IRC TR8 for smaller bikes (Joel likes). I put a Michelin Desert on the front of the husky and it's the best sand tire yet, but it's not going to last worth a hoot, and they are expensive. Going back to rally when I can get one - M1jeep said they are backordered all over and sure enough, no one has them in stock.

Anyway, I have one that's about half worn (scorpion rally) that you're welcome to if you want to run it. The way you ride you probly won't notice it's worn.

I can bring to the office in Orange.
