Great stuff MoB. And what's up with the taggers in VA other than those around Roanoke and Front Royal? I've watched things sit for weeks between Richmond and Petersburg. Don't know how many times I've pondered running up there and poaching it on a 70 degree, sunny Saturday only to assume it would be a wasted (tag-wise) ride. And then proven wrong... You may want to see if there's something going on with the water supply...

I couldn't tag for the last couple months I lived there in 2011, and prior to that it dwindled to just a couple of us, mostly we were playing the eastern stuff and Va TOR.
The old gang simply stopped playing, and blamed me for it, but when I wasn't playing, they mever picked it up.
It's a shame, there is soooooo much cool stuff in the Richmond area. we barely hit the tip-o-the iceburg.

Planning on playing this game whenever possible, Ohio has really interesting sights also.
Ride safe...

Well I didn't know it was on the site until I looked.

Eiffel tower at bordeaux shopping center. Owen dr Fayetteville nc

Fayetteville, North Carolina - Eiffel Tower

This was a little out of the way, and you couldn't get right next to it as it's part of a medical building. There are brick walls all around it. It's neat to see in the nighttime, but I wouldn't stop during the day. And only if you have time.

Bordeaux Center

Address:

1740 Owen Dr., Fayetteville, NC
Directions:
Bordeaux Center. I-95 exit 46B. Drive north on Hwy 87 to exit 102. Drive west on US 301 to Owen Drive and turn right. The tower is about 1.5 miles, on the left, at the corner of Owen and Village Drives.

Easy to find, accessible parking, cute.
[Ashley, 02/24/2010]80-ft tall replica Eiffel Tower, here since the shopping center opened in 1963. It contains medical offices and is close to a hospital.

Hard to miss, in downtown Fayetteville. He stands tall in front of the Airborne and Special Operations Museum. Also in front on the museum you can see engraved cement blocks dedicated to fallen soldiers.

The Ghost Tower. Fayetteville NC

http://www.roadsideamerica.com/searc...+&tip_State=NC

Fayetteville, North Carolina - Ghost Tower, Poe Houses, Graveyard

The Ghost tower is a huge metal structure that is lit up at night and can been seen from the Martin Luther King Highway exit, downtown Fayetteville and Hay Street. It is attached to the Fayetteville Museum and Civil War park they are trying to build. The Ghost tower stands on one of the corners that is the lookout point where an original wood (I think) structure stood to watch for enemies during the civil war. There were originally four structures, but they have only recreated one.
The park is also surrounded by the Poe House which was Edgar Poe's house, restored with original look and some of the houses he built for his daughters. Two have been torn down and one remains. I lived in the remaining one for three years, and had a lot of strange occurrences, and would go as far as to say it is haunted. The neighborhood is historic Haymount. Most have been renovated; the neighborhood is beautiful even if you just want to ride around and look at old southern houses. There is also a historic train station downtown and an old Griffin fountain. Also attached is the old civil war nurses quarters which have been turned into apartments as well. Further down Haystreet, the market house where they used to buy and sell slaves and produce still stands. Occasionally they have Civil War reenactments and cannon fire. There is a wrought iron walkway that leads from one side of the park to the other and the museum. This runs over the highway and is pretty spooky at night. A lot of bats in the area. Also there is a historic graveyard with huge angels and crypts a couple of miles down the road through the neighborhoods off Grove Street.
[Christina, 05/02/2005]
Tipster S. McDonald points out that the Ghost Tower visible today is a stylized replica by an artist. The original arsenal and towers were destroyed by General Sherman's troops in 1865.
