got the Berg out to the dez yesterday, almost have the suspension where i want it. and the Rekluse works well in the sand, digging it! this bike is the easiest to ride of my bunch and after just a few trips out with it, i really feel comfortable just mobbing it through the hard stuff. i traded bikes with my buddy and he had the same impression of the Berg, smooth, powerful, nimble and well suspended. and no vibes! (although his bike is a kx500 in a 250 frame, so "no vibes" is kindof relative.)

edit: got the 70degree subframe tank on, what a pain in the arse!

I'm jealous of your weather! What all have you done to your suspension? I keep tweaking mine, Its the best Ive ever had but that wont stop me from messing with it more!

The SXS kit with SKF seals and low friction bushings made quite the improvement, more than expected.

I'm only an honorary member here, since I only stole a girlfriend's 450 yesterday. Ground clean through the muffler. Good thing I had a take-off (cored by previous owner, so ridiculously loud and unusable), so I swapped her silencer guts into it. All good.

And look what was used to hold up my bike It looks weird in the picture, but I thought it actually looked good on the blues.

yeah, the weather has been rough around here.....it was high 70s all weekend and 80s this week! i've still got a bit of a sunburn.

i've only had the Berg for a few months, the previous owner had is sprung & valved by ESP for his weight, about 35lbs more than me. but he did give me all the stock springs, so i've swapped them out and am playing around with rear preload to get it where i want it. this last ride was very good, maybe a hair more preload and i'll call it good.

introducing my ride

Hello riders!

Although I've being reading a lot since now, this is my first time I write here on Adv, and I wish to show you my Berg FS570.

Bought in Nov-2011 and used mainly on open road, but with some track days in the curriculum

Bone stock, the day I brought her home:

And with some recent mods:

Link to the entire photo gallery: http://www.imagebam.com/gallery/e76s...nmxngut6qtxy/1

Some mods:
- Higashi Alloy slip-on muffler (I'm selling it, ask me for details)
- black plastics kit
- Brembo 16x18 radial master cylinder (I'm selling it)
- Beringer radial 4p caliper
- Custom built 310mm front disk, manufactured by the same producer of the "Braking" brand disks. So it's a Braking whithout the logo, and 100 cheaper
- air intake "power-hole" mod
- header carbon-fiber heat protection (lost during a ride)
- 2nd wheel set for track use
- RFX Hardware anodized gear lever
- DRC Hardware blue radiator hoses
- PowerParts ultra mega hyper racing fork protections
- PowerParts plastic frame covers
- Acerbis Rally Pro II alloy handguards
- WRP 28mm handlebar (GP Replica shape)

Unfortunately here in Italy the (stupid) restrictive street laws do not allow you to fit an offroad wheel on a street (Berg FSs) model, so I cannot convert it to an offroad version for my amusement.
Same rule is for the most of the exhaust silencers, so I had to chose between the few models that are street legal in this country. I went for the Higashi silencer, manufactured here in the north of Italy, and already equipped with removable db-killer. I wanted a FMF Powerbomb header + Akra silencer, but they are not street legal...

My other ride is a '02 Honda FX650 Vigor with 54.000kms, which I bought 3 years ago for a street tracker projet, then aborted. I never used it, I'm slowly repairing it and giving some original shine to it. I'm planning to use it this summer for a holiday tour with friends, so I'd like to add some touring accessories (crashbars, additional front lights, side bags, a small front air protection, etc):

Ask me for any other detail if you want, I'll be happy to know you all!

Cheers from Italy!

new

Just found this thread.
Thanks for all the cool photos and info.
I just picked up a 2010 390 and am loving it.
The suspension is a bit soft for me.
Can anyone tell me what spring rate I should buy for the front and rear in order to stiffen it up?
I weigh between 210 and 220 with all my gear on.
Thanks a bunch...
