how long do you need to replace a chain? Should be done by now I think. Just hope the chain didn't destroy something else!

Go Robert!

Cyril ends up in 4th place... by 35 f-5ing seconds...!!!

What a race... well done Olivier Pain... well done Cyril Despres!
35 seconds after 2 weeks!!!

Yamaha did very well. Did they both do it on one engine each?

Fantastic for Pain! Im really chuffed for him.

"Congratulations Cyril"
"Thank you but Im not sure for what really"
Despres was not too upset, he said he was satisfied under the circumstances, but of course he was going for the win. For him 2,3 and 4 is neither here nor there really. He admitted there were some mechanical issues in the first week that let him down, but that is life and considering the new venture he was satisfied with he he ended up.
He said its pity he will not be flying home with a trophy but that is life.

I will have to check out all my side bets (Auto's and what not)... I think I came out a bit in front all up.

35 seconds more and my new 2014 MX bike would have been nicknamed "Surreal"

Oh well... great finish climax. awesome!

An amazing Dakar as always... the heartache at the end... and the relief to have finished it.

Well done to all involved with the event, an amazing adventure even for us mere mortals who can only follow at a distance.

To those who didn't get to the finish line, you still remain fierce gladiators of modern day in my book and wish you much success in the future. Bravo!

Life will now go back to normal again... and feel dull to a certain extent.

Riveting!

I think that's what Pain is gonna say to CD .. ''Pain in the ASS man !! ''

Glad Pain made it and there were no team orders... That penalty got CD into trouble big time we would have seen a completely different game...

That is desperately close, but to be fair to Pain - he rode a pretty much faultless race and deserves that Podium...

Cyril proved what an absolute machine he is to come back from such a deficit, but at the end of the day, he missed a waypoint - something usually unheard of from the Alien.

An awesome achievement from a 'non factory' team!

What a ride by Despres after the early setbacks! Amazing he could be in a position to fight for a podium spot today. Alien

It looks like Laia Sanz will be in 14th Position - best female motorcycle rider ever at a Dakar! (At least i think so)
