looks like some serious maintenance there.
I was planning to go ice fishing this morning but its minus 23 degrees outside so I'm laying in bed thinking it might be a better idea to just read the rest of Dylan's report and watch the rest of the video you posted.

I watched about half of that Motolumbia video before it kicked out on my iPod . Lots of the places were familiar as we had visited on our trip. One of the guys in the video is Al ( turtlehead ) Shamrock.
Dylan had a failure of his cam slider guides, and the tensioner assembly. He is making a new one out of various parts.
It's been a cruel winter there . We did the three week cold snap before we got out.

Well if its too cold for fishing there, we can share some fishing photos from here.

Magnet on mechanic wire going in

First try he gets a nibble......

Looks like a keeper ! The plunger & spring for the cam chain guide.

So what kind of magnet do you use to get the broken plastic from the cam chain guide\follower out?

Got out for a good rip today. It might be cold but the scenery is nice.

I think he decided to leave some plastic shrapnel in the bottom of the engine. It wasn't possible to get it.
He found a Nissan valve guide, and had it machined to fit into the plunger, then welded a location bracket to fit the Honda cam chain guide. The stock plunger was too short for the much different Honda part ( top & bottom sliders) .
Right at dark, he started the engine and it ran smooth. Broke down for 48 hours, and spent $28to fix. Pretty cool.
15 soles for lathe work , 8 soles each for sliders , 10 soles for Nissan valve guide.

Looks like we're gonna roll south Sunday. Put my new tire on today

That one is only 2.25. It's a Hillclimb track. Not the best in the loose snow.

That is some awesome "outside the box" thinking!

"Looks like we're gonna roll south Sunday. Put my new tire on today"

Happy trails Kari, looking forward to more of your adventure.
Cheers!

Life is good . T-shirt weather after the high altitude, had ice pellets hitting us at 4500 M asl.
