No, I sold the XLV last August and she is running again. The new owner told me he had to clean the carbs and changed the oil and now she is running fine.

Only the fuel tank was to rusty.

I still have to much bikes but I can't decide to sell one.

I've always liked the old CX500's... ever since I had the chance to ride one back in the mid-80's. It definitely wasn't my style of bike at that time (I was only into dirt bikes) but I do remember how smooth that motor was. They weren't a very popular bike in Canada but they did have a cult-like following.

I'm very close to placing an order for a new GS Adventure -- just concerned about spending so much cash... in a few days I may come to my senses and order the damn thing. If I do, I plan to also get a very cheap scooter or small engine city bike.

No, not yet. I have a GL1000 rear wheel waiting for that but I had no time to try it.
At the moment I try to get a MZ ETZ250 sidecar back on the street. I have only one week till the Elephant rallye

- Front end (fork, brakes, wheel, headlight,....) and rear plastic and rack is from Honda XLV750R from 1983.
- Rear wheel is still stock
- Shocks are Konis from a XT500
- Fuel tank is stock, just painted to match the XLV750 color.

Still need to:
- add a spoke rear wheel
- change the fuel tank to get more clearance for the fork. Now I have not enough steering angle.
- change the exhaust system
- add a skidplate

Anyway, Im living aprox 25kms far from Stuttgart since a year and a 1/2, 46 years old and at the moment with a simple Honda SLR 650. I had already a lot of bikes, every brand every colour, and hope to meet new people to share my passion (talking about bikes, dirty minds ) with.
Big hug, hope meeting you soon.
