The rear subframe will be built in such a way that it will finish the whole thing off, that combined with the high mount pipes and tail light should bright it back together. I do also have a rear fender/plate holder from an FZ-1 that would move the plate and blinkers down and out about 12" from the seat base, not sure if I'll use it yet.

My goal was to definitely still keep a bit of the street bruiser look as well :)

Careful, or you'll end up with a set of SV forks in the corner of the garage collecting dust.

Yup, bought it a little while back, before I even had the bike to attach it to. I got it for less than $40 shipped and considering what most are listed on EBay for, I jumped on it!

Exhaust suggestion

Looking good so far. Are you thinking about designing an exhaust system similar to Marc Coma's Dakar KTM used this year? If I ever get my hands on a GS500 this is the direction that I would take.

It'll be more like this Street Triple, but the cans are a bit smaller:

Got a new rear fender thanks to my buddies FZ1...though it needed some serious slimming down. Should look pretty rad between the mufflers, and will give some much needed rain coverage.

Before:

Gigantic!

Torn down and slightly trimmed:

Boom!

Not the right plate, but you get the idea:

Good bye!

The bike's officially at my buddy's place and ready for chopping!

I can see the conversation now:

*walks into Starbucks*

"Hey! Is that your BMW GS outside? Nice bike!"

"Thanks, I see you're carrying a helmet, what do you ride?"

"I've got a GS Adventure! It's parked right next to yours, want to see it?"

This should look pretty cool once the frame rails, grab handle, and mufflers are part of the equation. Should also help keep the rain and muck off of my back :)
