If you'd like to explain what's 'illegal', I'd be very interested to hear. These bikes race ( as in RACE...), in a highly, (as in N--- (that was close!) ) regulated race class here. There has been bulk discussion over the last few years regarding this issue. It has been resolved. Considering the competition this bike was racing against last weekend, I would consider it rather disadvantaged, if anything....

I could sell the house I'm living in now, and I wouldn't have enough money to buy this motorcycle. It looks like a Suzuki Katana. Ha!

Or this?

Jeremy McWilliams mount. 1300? 1400? Who knows?

At the end of the day, I tend to think its more about the spirit of competing, and what goes into it. And by the way, the machine at this meet is the Two Valver, with conventional, period correct suspension and brakes.
Better see if Ducati would be interested in swapping their Desmos for pushrods. Don't think so.....

Is that Harris rig not a Kwak?

Some remarkable machinery, there's no doubt about that. But that 185hp Vincent is mind bending!

uh, the Suzuki, the Honda and the Yamaha shown are all 4-valve per cylinder models. But, you knew that.

I love these no-holds-barred racing series. The BOTT (AMA Pro Twins) series in the US was similar. Very interesting machinery and great racing. 1989 was dynamite. In their usual dumbfounded wisdom the AMA nixed it and there has been a downward spiral ever since.

Pretty sure that's a Kwak motor and not a Yamaha. And it's a 2-valve Kwak motor.

blah blah blah...

Just as a point of interest, and as a multiple past competitor in the International Challenge, I can assure you that if it were "highly illegal" it would have been protested out of existence.

Maybe we have different definitions of "illegal".

Sounds like the controversial type of things Harley was allowed to get away with here.

Nah, Harley just got the rules changed to suit itself in the US...over many years, as I was told by my grandfather (who with his brothers was my country's master agent for H-D for 40+ years, and rode now and again for the factory himself).

And in fact your comment I quoted earlier has no background of credibility at all, does it? You don't need to answer.
