The one thing I'm most sure of is that with the ever-increasing choice in bikes, these are great times to be a motorcyclist!
Couldn't agree more on both points. I gave a lot of crap to Honda for not importing the CB1100 when it first came out and they now deserve some credit now for both importing it and spending some extra effort to improve it. It's a cool bike that has gotten cooler and also is starting to pick up a little more practicality to make it a decent light tourer. I'm hoping they now just cycle through a few more colors, continue to tweak the styling, and hold the line on price.

I mean whats next, training wheels

Looks like you'll be holding on to your '13 then. ABS is part of the DLX package.

On a different note...I put down $1000 today with my local dealer for their 1st DLX that hits! $500 off MSRP and zero BS fees

Cool, good for you! We'll be expecting lots of photos when it arrives.

What are the sales numbers like? Anyone know?

Just curious about whether this is something Honda is going to commit to. Bringing an updated model in is a good sign.

To be honest, I really expected them to bring this in and then just let it wither on the vine for a couple of years and then withdraw it due to "poor sales." Being as how that's what's happened to almost every other UJM-type 4 cyl bike that's been introduced over the past 20 years (Zephyr, CB1000, ZR7, Naked Bandit - did I miss one?)

I'm good with that, the natural finish on the motor and wheels was the only thing I really wanted. Extra fuel capability is only a 1/2 gal but would be nice.

Thanks! PUH-lenty of pics to follow. My dealer thinks they should show up at the beginning of April.

The girlfriend's pissed cause there's no backrest available. Sorry, honey
People have been doing them with the luggage rack...but I don't do luggage racks.

Man, I love the way that 2nd pipe just evens out the entire bike.

oh shit!

a six speed tranny was the 'sticking' point on me when I was fighting between the yammy FZ and the CB 1100, had one been on the floor I'd have probably jumped.
those mag wheels look like com-stars, which I for one am a huge fan of.

Damn.

I still love my bike, but a cb1100 with a six speed? yeah buddy.
4-2? meh, just additional weight. first thing I did with my 81 CB750F was dump that ultra-heavy 4-2 stock exhaust (anyone looking for one?) and put a Kerker 4-1. much, much lighter, and better power.

ZRX1100 / ZRX1200....which was not a sales flop, nor was the Bandit.

yep. I loved my GSXF1200, and was on the lookout for another one. the new bike(suzuki) is fully faired, which misses what I loved most about it.(it's also sold out, so I didn't have an opportunity)

FWIW which is very little - I have ~ 2500 miles on my 2013 CB1100 and so far I have not ever wished I had a 6th gear for the type of riding I do. (no freeways).
But then again, I don't want a 5th gear for the type of riding I do on my BMW R75/5...

If it only did not have shimmed valves (CB 1100).

That DLX looks awesome.

I am also in the mags are better column. I even went through the trouble of converting my 76 goldwing from spokes to Comstars. The want is strong with that one.

why?

it's a very understressed engine with a low rpm threshold in normal use - they should stay put forever. Checking them won't take any time, easy to get to them.

would you rather have screw and locknut that you have to check every 7,500 miles?
