You can also change the lighthouse with a led version. I did that with My old lucas style on the thruxton.

hanguards go a long way in keeping your hands warmer. Either way, 37 degrees isn't too cold for gerbings on high, something may be wrong.

Well, a seat of the pants report is lots more speed and torque throughout the power band. I have been doing a lot of lightening of the bike as well and I've conservatively dropped 18 pounds or so. It's really a hell of a fun bike to ride now.
Statistics I got are questionable for this reason. Carlos at TPUSA set the flatside carbs for the way I had the bike's upgrades. TPUSA supplied the BB kit and cams. Since I changed from stock pipes with Norm Hyde toga cans to a low Zard, I took it into my local Triumph dealer for a dyno tune.
They called and said I shouldn't be running this type of carb on the street and they had to "detune" the carb to make it run right. They gave the hp rating as 70. Talking to Carlos and a few of my other Triumph buddies confirmed that the dealer was clueless. The bike actually ran slower after the tune up. Everyone who's opinion I trust says the hp and torque should be higher with the work I've done.
I am definitely getting a pieman ignition upgrade in the future. Right now I have my eye on a super light battery and some light fiberglass fenders from PJ's in the UK. I mention this because taking off excess weight makes a big difference too.
I had dreams of a new head with larger valves, but that's another whoppingly expensive upgrade. I may just call it done and enjoy the bike.

Need to see the run data for that number to even be comparable to anything. FWIW, 70 hp (DJ-SAE) can be achieved on a stock head/stock piston 865/270 with CVK carbs.

has anyone tried the 110/80/17's for the front tire? I want to try the Full Bores but I wondered how the wider front with lower profile handled.

37 is definitely not too cold. With the temperatures we've been having here this winter, I've been riding in 0 Fahrenheit and have stayed warm. I start to feel the heat from the Gerbings jacket liner after about 5-10 seconds. Same with glove liners, although I recently switched to Powerlet glove liners and like them more than my old Gerbings glove liners, which wore through at the fingertips.

I'd check if you have everything hooked up correctly, and if you do, send it to Gerbings for a warranty repair or replacement.

You're wearing it under a regular riding jacket, right? It works best when separated from your skin by one thin layer.

When I was riding this past spring in 36-38f weather the handguards on my Scrambler were pretty ineffective. Heated grips or gloves would be the way to go...I ended up putting my gloved hands into some triple digit rain mitts from Aerostich - that did the trick, hands warmed up quickly. Running a heated vest also helped this situation...
