Don't say flood. The worst floods in Oregon were snow melt floods. The Corps and NOAA are predicting near flooding for all streams by next Saturday. 3-4 ft below flood at corvallis.

In 1996, your cafe would have had 6" of water on the floor if the city hadn't put out sand bags.

1964

Ahh, the flood of '96.....we knocked off a couple of hours early and sent the entire crew of 150 down to public works to fill sand bags to protect Mt Vernon, WA.

In 1964 we were living on Evergreen Rd SW of Philomath when the BIG flood occured. From the hill at the E end of the road the valley looked like rice paddies with just the tops of the fences and the fencerows defining the fields all the way to Eugene. The light overcast sky was reflected in the silver fields like a giant triptiche'. I thought that was the coolest thing until we got old enough to realize the trouble that beauty represented.

Good to see people still out riding and enjoying that country. DD

I feel like sarcasm is lost in these posts.....and yeah, were already gathering bags. Came in Saturday to a waterfall in my bottle room and the false ceiling in my grain room collapsed. The fun is just beginning.

I spent six days in a wet suit and on the clock during the flood of ’96. We were doing water rescues all over the county. Lots of stories from that one.

Group Buy

Howdy gents! For most of you that missed the meetup last night, I put out the possibility of doing a group buy on tires through a friend of mine who owns a shop in southern oregon. I brew a house beer for his shop and distribute down there so I'd be able to pick things up and deliver them to the meetup. Going to speak with him in more detail this friday but tires are a go, and potentially other equipment as well. Price would be volume dependent put something in the 5 tire range as a minimum, which sure isnt bad. If we get 5+ he's confident he can beat MCSuperstore prices, plus its a family owned business, not a behemoth. Will update later, but let me know if youre interested.

tires

The tire deal sounds good to me. I like to buy them before I need them, and have them ready for me.

I usually buy about 5 tires this time of year. I like Pirelli's and Conti TKC's.

Awesome. How about this, pm me sizes and brand/model and I'll get it to Mason, and get back with prices at next weeks meet up. I've got a new front sitting in my garage but I wouldn't mind picking up an extra rear/ some heavy tubes.
