I pulled the carb needle out to move the clip down one, but there's no grooveygrooves to move it to. So, to the round multi-bin with all the nuts and washers I go, and found a washer about the same thickness as what I remember the groove spacing was on my bikes from 40 to 25 years ago. Seems the lean symptom is worse than what one groove would fix, so I found another that was 1/3 that thickness and added that to the pro fix going on.
I can't be sure but it seems like there is just a hint of the hunt/misfire/stumble left now as it's waaay mo bettah than it was. Certainly good enough to leave and use for a while to be sure.
Sliced a bit off the right side handguard where it's in the way so I was able to rotate the brake lever down a bit more.
Looked thru all the parts I got with the bike, oem fender, fender brace, footpegs and hoops, oem air filter and airbox snorkle, oem jets, half a dozen o-rings, a box of gaskets(?), found the switch for the heated grips, bolts and a relay.
It's coming together pretty nice. Pants will be here Monday or Tues. The rear rack will prob be here next weekend'ish. Hopefully it doesn't take me months to build the side racks.

So nice to see the sun today, ran errands on the XL250, got an offroad sticker for the TW at the KTM store, never been in that place, great folks working there! Then rode up Fisk onto the 16-7-mud'n'shit roads, made a mess of my gs. Everyone I met was smiling, nothing like that first Spring(ish) day in the Willamette Valley! And there's still Sunday!

Peterman, that sounds like a good plan... I'm thinking of heading out that way but not 'til noon or so, gotta wait for the store to open so I can get some better gloves, tired of my fingers freezing!

I have problems when it comes to leaving home for overnight stays, whether or not I want to partake isn't the issue at all normally. And getting her to come along isn't happening yet either, but I'm working on it.

If you weren't hinting so hard, I'd leave you alone. But since you're a n00b with enthusiasm, all that ^^^ tells me is that we just gotta work y'all a bit harder, and bribe the two-a-yas with something better than a tent; like a real bed and a warm place to sleep inside (can't promise quiet ). We have quite a few women each year that aren't riding, just hanging out and enjoying the beautiful day and keeping my 2 Goldens occupied.

Nobody gets bored,...unless that's just what they're looking for.
You're not gettin' off that easy....

Glad you enjoyed yourself, but you should have come west
I had a good time for sure, OMB was probably bored trying to keep it slow enough that I stayed in his mirror. With my limited experience and 1/2 the hp I was working pretty hard to keep up till he took pity on me.
When we came down off the north end of Fisk rd, I actually saw DUST!! off OMB's tires. Couple that with new growth...

and I'm giggling about the good weather on it's way. But then a wrench got tossed in those thoughts.

Before we got off the assfault a bird tried a kamikaze run on the big bike. 1/2 way up the west side of Mary's Peak we came around one corner and had to wait for a doe to make room for us. She headed up the hill and we went on just to have her, or another, pop back out on the road around the corner and show us her ass again.
Then right after one intersection we stopped at, the red rocket took off and I saw a cow elk standing on the hill 30yds away checking me out. I layed on the horn and OMB got back soon enough to catch it heading through the trees. Couple more deer later on also.
About the middle of Nowhere Forest we took a little unplanned rest stop too. Even though both of us had plenty of air the fatknobby was missing some.

Had a great burger at the Alpine International Cuisine University, really hit the spot.
All in all, a pretty good day, even if it turned ugly and gray 2/3 of the way through.

Basic noobie question time. 4.60-18 rear tire, what size tube do I get when the 4.25-4.50 is the closest listed?
