I'd easily run 5k on Redline Synthetic MC oil on a trip.
Heck that oil is so good, I'd would run 10k (if need be) and just change the filter at 5k.

I run 15K on quality synthetic in my car all day long.

I must add those long haul tuckers install extra filter systems too and change those in between to achieve long intervals. For them a filter is cheap to change vrs the large quantity of oil they need in the engine.

The same thing can be said for bikes. Use synthetic oil & change the filter every 2-3k if you are worried or use a stainless filter you can clean & reuse.

Name brand synthetic engine oils have higher Noack scores and typically don't shear nearly as quickly as non-synthetics.

If you want even longer OCIs, use automotive synthetic engine oils that contain more robust EP additive packages.

You want really tough engine oil? Try HDEO rated for diesel engine service. Shell Rotella, Mobil Delvac or Delo 400 in 15w-40 viscosity...$12.00 per gallon most anywhere.

The OTR truckers typically run these oils for 20K miles and up to 50K miles in high HP diesel engines.
