With an extra brace in the middle and a wider base maybe it will handle a big ass 700 lb. Honda.

Hi all -
Thanks again for the helpful responses. I'm on my phone, so hopefully this won't be garbled.

Lots of good points. Sounds like I already have the best bike for me. I haven't really given much thought to replacing my bike with another thumper as I've been pining for something smoother and more powerful. I didn't mention it before, but I also do a lot of pavement riding with my bf on his uber powerful Ducati. It would be nice to have a bike that'll keep up easier. And sounds the part (the Termi exhaust and the dry clutch are like angels singing). But unlike me, he has the real estate for another bike.

I realize it's all about compromise. I have some off-road training coming up soon. If I'm not mangled after that, I'll consider how aggressive the DS riding I'd like to do, and contribute to the bike fund - either for a new ride or for some Dakar farkles.

Which reminds me - Jax, I see you have an aftermarket exhaust on your F. What do you have and do you recommend it? I'd be looking for something that would wake the engine up a bit more.

Thanks again everyone for your experienced advice and patience.

No problem Blixa, we all love talking bikes.

I have a 2 brothers titanium.... I did it to get rid of the friggin stock boat anchor. BuB BY.
I am not pleased with it for any reason other than it netted me like 13 lbs of weight loss. It is loud... loud as hell...even with the db killer installed. Wait for the pile on....
It also blew its guts out half way down Michigan in 2012. Now... with all that said, not too many aftermarket oems make an 05 baby gs flavor... I just looked again because I really don't want to rebuild the 2 bros again, and found slim pickens. And not in a "go back and get a shitload of dimes " way. Bloody expensive and few...... I'm rebuilding my 2 brus. for the 3rd time.

Ya might be better off going for a custom solution. The bike does go pretty well, but it's hard to tell which mod is doing what. I have modded the airbox, exhaust and added a "cold air" intake sensor.

I've never really had any interest in moving to Maryland but I've got a couple of cousins that could make me reconsider.
