heated grips not included on the standard Canadian Model. With the exception of colours CDN US specs appear identical on both models

My 2013 followed me home almost a month ago, still in the garage with zero miles and torn apart for powder coat, pipe, tires, etc. Saved $2970 off the standard model which will go a long way towards making it just how I want it.

Well I was hoping for a white 14 standard model, that blue doesn't look bad though! I was also hoping the standard got heated grips. Glad to see them come with a center stand!

Now to decide between a heavily discounted white 13, blue 14 or a KTM 1190R....

I'm wondering if the US 2014 model will continue to have switchable speedometer, miles and Km as the previous models . Our 2014 again will not have miles, Y. Canada "Yep, the speed display is the same as last year ... only kilometres ... it is not switchable ... sorry (we are trying to convince the factory to give us the other speedo but we have not succeeded ... at least not yet. " ::)

A blue Standard with heated grips would be the one I'd choose. I like that they included a center stand.

Nice job, Yamaha.

I'm in the same boat, except I like the grey, which it seems I am in the minority. I am thinking a heavily discounted 13 with a flash will be much cheaper than the 14 and allow for a few extra farkles. I am waiting to buy until the 14 is available, with the hope of a good deal on a leftover 12, or 13, or a clean used find. Anyone in the Pacific NW trading in for a new '14 hit me up, it may be mutually beneficial?

My Yamaha salesman showed me the email from Yamaha USA. Dealer has to submit a bill of sale with customer phone number to order during the period from now until May 31 and they will be delivered in June.

Yes, you are right. In my earlier post about the standard model not having center stand and passenger hand holds, I guess I was thinking of the Euro standard, which does not have those things. Looks like the Canadian one is like the US one.

Nice job, Yamaha.
The Japanese get the bare bones thing - no nonsense and purposeful - the best tool for the job. I just wish Toyota would bring their stripped down Land Cruiser here...

So Yeah, nice job Yamaha.
