Did not know that, cheers tehdutchie
This event should get into my calendar at some point. That is before I get too old of course

At the moment in the individual days result, Lee does not seem to have missed a wp, So dunno why... May be he got a penalty for being late?

Thank you so much Armageddon! I was hoping someone would be able to do this on my behalf...

It is so frustrating here this year... There is no bandwidth at any of the hotels, so I can't upload anything to photobucket, or even get onto Facebook or here with any regularity...

I'm so sorry not to have been able to provide my usual daily newsfeed this time round - but rest assured I have dozens of photos together with some great insider stories to share, it's just going to have to wait until I get back to the UK next week I'm afraid... A sort of retrospective rally report if you like?

The good news is I've finally ridden the LC4-50 at last! While John has been really putting it through its paces in the sand today, and Martin has been tweaking the fuelling map with a laptop - trying to smooth everything out while we're here, although of course we'll have a proper dyno set-up session once we're back home too.

More as soon as I can get a decent connection - I am currently in the hotel lobby using KTMmitch's Tunisian 3G SIM card in his iPad...

Toot toot!

Jenny xx

Don't worry! - it was an admin error by the checkpoint crew (remember the drama we had last year when Ned had a similar situation?) - anyway, it's been resolved and I can confirm that Ben is not only penalty free so far, but at the end of stage 4 (which is notorious for riders getting penalties as they time-out), Ben had a clear round finishing all four laps of the dunes in good time, bumping him up to 8th in the overall standings at this half-way point in the rally!

Go Ben!

Jenny (yup, still on KTMmitch's iPad...) xx

Hi edjo - the guy in question is British rider Chris Green, and he is indeed on a naily old XR600!

However, the machine is seemingly bullet-proof and Chris is a top-notch rider, currently sitting around 20th in the overall standings (Moto Profi).

He's with the Torque Racing team (but doing his own spannering), and I've already got some nice photos of him riding and also working on his bike - I'll get them posted just as soon as I can get a decent Internet connection!

Laugh The TUAREG body snatcher's... are doin' my head in...?!

Sweet lil' JMo Jenny "channelling" through Doctor Mitch is just too weird for me...???! I keep reading Jenny's words and reports... and hearing John's voice... Yep... now I'm gonna have nightmares... thanx...

Great reporting under (technical) duress Jen

What with the "Wifi", bluetooth compatible "Hands free" full mobile coverage (Sth American) Dakar of the last six years... everyone seems to have forgotten how it ("used"?) to be in Africa...
