[QUOTE=dwj - Donnie;23658313]Hi! What are you currently riding?

I bought a 11 KTM 530 EXC last summer and still have the 09 KLR. The 530 may / could be for sale soon. No idea what I will replace it with. Still mentally searching what will best serve my needs....still hoping to break away from N. Ga. at some point.
BTW that's a good looking 990 ADV and in true dwj fashion you seem to be putting it to good use.

Hi Donnie and Ana!

Great pics! Nice camera work at 50 MPH.

Looks like you two are having a great time.
Thanks for taking us along.

Our moto rally here last weekend had 300 bikes from all parts of
northern Mexico. Motos of all shapes and sizes.
Some with duct tape accessories!

Ride safe!

The lady of the place. very friendly and helpful!

Her German husband. His son and daughter are both in the US Military. If I remember correctly, the son is in the Marines and the daughter is in the Navy or Air force.

This was a very nice place and I would highly recommend! Even though this is not a heavy tourism area, it has a medium tourist type rate of about $35US. The total cost for the hotel with king sized bed, hot water, air conditioner, pool, Wifi, dinner for two, breakfast for two, and at least four other drinks was $60US.

They didn't fix the pot holes last night!

Actually, I have seen a bunch of pot hole repairs on asphalt roads. They use concrete to fill in the hole. The ones that appear to be older are holding up well. I think this is a great idea! It allows poor places with no machinery to hand mix bag concrete to repair places that would take forever for heavy machienery to be brought in for repairs. I have also saw 100 to 200 feet sections of roads that had been concreted by large equipment.

And then the road turned to gravel.

I was using a map provided by the Tourism Department at the border and staying on the bold lines, plus all of the roads I was using were in the base map of my GPS. But this road later turns into a very eroded dirt road crossing mountain passes. Of course it was no problem for the KTM, but I did spend most of the day in second gear!

A little bit dusty in places.

I like these road! Ana, not so much! But the roads are still easier than the road to her house, which is first and second gear travel all the way!

They are working on some parts, but here they just seem to be concerned with dust control.
