I averaged 190 miles a day on this trip. More pics on the days I was riding alone.

Yes, I mentioned that in your trip report.

The other group of riders we ran into a couple times on our trip had just come down it.

Did you try Fencemaker Pass while you were in the area?

No, I ran out of time.

Wondered if it was worth starting in Jordan Valley to Montana and returning on whatever side loops offered for something different. Most of it camp & ride sometime in June. Scenic & remote would be just fine.

Sounds like a good ride.

More.

Lovelock Cave. Luckily I made it out before the Si-Te-Cah sniffed me out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Si-Te-Cah

That's all the pics I have.

September 23-28, 2014 will be the dates for this years ride. Camping at Smith Creek Playa about 30 miles west of Austin, NV. There is a hot springs on the west side of the playa. I found an event that is taking place out there on the playa in July when I was researching the area. http://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/20...july-2014-usa/

See the first post in this thread for an idea of what these rides are like. This will be dry camping in the high desert with no improvements. No more campgrounds for me.

I am going to take a weekend trip down there on the DR in April or May to check it out and figure out where I want to set up camp in the fall.

I was thinking of camping in the same general area this year but then changed my mind to Jarbidge. You will have a great time. Those mountains are fun down there! Don't try to take any big bikes up the eastern slope of Ophir Pass.

One of the best places I have eaten is the Pony Express Café in Eureka, NV. I had the Mayor's Sandwich (I think that is the name). It was a huge slice of prime rib in a sandwich. MMHHH!

Is that from the Arizona heat or the flood you just had?

I haven't ridden it in about 7 months, just the heat. It usually gets up to about 105° in the garage in the summer.

Poor DRZ. Sounds like it needs a good Nevada flogging to burn the cobwebs out of it.
