It's time for the big softball game!! I tried really hard to snap a picture without naked people in it, Wormz with a z is naked and singing the national anthem right here, but I got her just out of the picture so I could show it here...boy, she has a nice set of...pipes. What did you think I was gonna say?

We mooched some shade under Scott and Annette's awning, you've met them before in my reports. Sweet little dog hanging out with us, a little bit rat and a touch bull terrier.

oldbmw and his buds stopped by to say hello.

The Misfits lost this year, oh well, can't win 'em all!!

Back to camp...

Had the big potluck, 40 feet worth of tables chock full of food...man, that was awesome!!

Great stuff Rob. I'm still laughing about your plane ride.

I flew to Mammoth once in a low powered 4 place plane and know about those down drafts. When we were taking off from Mammoth we had to circle to get altitude and while we were going up we hit a down draft that dropped us suddenly. We recovered but I thought we were going to all the way to the ground.

I'd rather stay on two wheels........

Soaking and reading for today. I don't think I've shared this bit of history before, sorry if I have already.

Dave gave Tammy a lift home...

Snack and nap.

Dan and I did a surf and turf dinner. I brought the turf.

Dan brought the surf..Ahi and shrimps.

Finished the day with a nice time of guitar playing at the lower springs.

I will admit to popping a meclizine that Sacramento Dan had, we're both vertigo sufferer's. I had a bad bout the night I got in, sometimes all day riding with an early stop gets it started...that's why I often ride well into the night, it seems better if I stop when it's dark for some reason.

I'm glad I did it, but I was terrified. I've seen many, many planes fly in, take one look at that strip and just fly away without landing. Pilot Dave is really good, he lands on frozen lakes, gravel bars, his place in Baja and random ridge tops.

Thanks again to everybody that came in for a look, I've been updating this thread when I go to the Saline Valley on this bike.

Watch for updates to the same old story over the years as I've come to like this bike and don't use it for much besides this.

Super cool flying opportunity. We have the chance to fly over the Black Rock Desert this summer.
Richard had better not chicken out on me. If you can do it, so can he!
Damn, I miss the desert. Thanks for sharing!

Thumb Saline is sweet

Sacramento Dan here, guess I ought to confess I am an ADV rider also, but without most of the skill of Rob and none of the prose. I was there when Rob rode up in Saline, and I have never seen a bike piled so high with gear, a weeks worth of GOOD food, and a load of firewood. I'll admit the road in was in good shape but its still 45 miles of gravel and rock with about 15 of semi-serious sand! Rob can ride - AND eat. Had a great time hanging with you in Feb, Rob, keep up the great posts. BTW, I took the Tiger 800XC down in March and was a little concerned due to the stock Pirrelli scorpion tires. They actually worked great and seemed unfazed by the sand. Came back my way of Stovepipe Wells, Beaty, and the Fish Lake Valley. Our buddy Paris wasn't around but I had a fun soak and camp at the hot springs there. Let's ride. Dan
