The bike is IN the US, Illinois specifically.

He (the seller) is not very verbose when it comes to articulating how he got the machine here and titled. IMO Being more forthright would help his chances at a sale.

He says he imported it directly from a London dealer.

Funny, someone asks what makes it a cafe racer, he says look at the photos. All I see is a cheesy looking JC Whitney quality quarter fairing. I think the person asking the question is right. Listing also says "bobber", don't think so.

To many "ifs", may have a lot of trouble registering it in certain states that just go off of computer list of VINs, same for insurance.

Be a bitch to buy it and not be able to register or insure it.

Another "if" is parts, where you getting them when, say, your FI needs work? Who's going to diagnose the problems?

State to state could be a crap shoot getting it titled. Luckily he gave the vin so you could run it by your states DMV prior to bidding and see if they would title it. I contacted him an was serious about buying it I have imported a few bikes and had trouble titling them. Luckily they were for display only and I didn't care much but I would ride this one. He said he would only take offers over 10K. I said call me and sent him my info twice. He never called. 10K transaction doesn't deserve a phone call for a few questions answered to bestow a little comfort to me. I can see why he only gives 3 word answers to his auction questions. He's either tired of time wasters which I wasn't or he's being doggy on purpose. Either way sad to see it would be a nice addition to my old kawasaki horde

I met up with some of the guys from Brisbane Cafe Racers and they took a few photos of my bike, so I thought I would share here.

Love the paint job on the tank. But why the pipe wrap?

The W800 is a highly underestimated bike to ride over long distances.

Where sis you source the rack for your bike from Dan, looking for one myself :-)
Cheers

+1 The W800 has dual-walled header pipes too, right? Wrapping them will only retain the heat enough to make the outer layer of the headers discolor. (And if you're looking for additional horsepower from "scavenging", maybe it's time to get a 600 I-4.

I'm curious if there really is a good reason to wrap them though.
