Quad Wing

It looks as though they are close to inventing the automobile. If you've gone this far why not side by side seating, a top, heater and air conditioning? If this can be licenced as a motorcycle why not my Toyota Pickup? With the popularity of trikes this seems to be where the market is headed. To each his own, but I'd rather have a Mazda Miata than one of these, Dan

Cool concept. Can't be licensed as a motorcycle in my state. I wonder where in the world it could be used legally on public roads?

Hannigan has actually had the Quad out for quite a few years now.

Guess I'm out of touch Does he actually sell many any of them?

It's like the bastard offspring after a Miata and Gold Wing mated one dark night.

Around $8k for the front conversion and $9k for the rear plus the cost of the GL. One could but a nice handling sports car and have $$ left over.

I guess if you can have a 4 wheeled motorcycle you can have the 8 wheeled sports car.

Be carfeful when mating though

Hannigan had one on the showroom when I was there 2 years ago. They had also built the "sidebike" a sidecar incorporated in a trike conversion. They lost the mold for that in the fire.

I've seen the small performance type quads and they look like fun for power sliding around.

I guess there's never anything tooo extreme for some folks.

I saw two at Mid Ohio vintage days and agree with the above posters. A Vette convertible would be more fun in every way, but to each their own.

Now there's something we pretty much all agree on, I have a hard time loving the trike brethren, dog only knows how I'd feel if they had another wheel.I think I could do it if it where a Lotus 7 derivative

Quad

Lotus Super 7! now you'r talkin'. That's always been one of my fantasy cars, although my 63yr old back probably couldn't take more than a few miles in one. My brother has had an Elan for the last 30 years or so, but he hardly drives it anymore. Things wear out on it while it's parked in the garage. Colin Chapman believed that a car only needed to be strong enough to finish a race and fall apart as it crossed the finish line in first place and he carried this philosophy into his street cars. To be fair he had to source most of his parts from English production cars of the day. Not the highest quality. The front suspension of the Elan comes from the Triumph Spitfire. The trunion bushings seem to be made of low grade cheese. Dan

You guys are making me wish I still had my 59 MGA. Blew the engine after chimney rock and ended up selling it back to the guy I got it from. ....and then there was the Austin Healey we put a small block chevy in .... drove the purists nuts but was fast. Or the time we took Greg's stock car to the autocross event at the old airport. He finished, I think 3rd, against some pretty nice cars. No one was impressed ...lol. But all in fun

I'd love to try an HP rig, I was surprised when trying a buddies Mini Cooper S it was scarey fast in the corners.I know cars have surpassed motorcycles at the highest levels but some of that is trickling down to stuff any old fool can purchase. It's fun to go to an auto X and watch old guys in Corvette's getting spanked by well driven smaller cars. There's a guy in his 70's in the MN club with a well prepped Cooper not an S that really helps with ego reduction.DB
