side covers

I put the new OEM-copies from Thailand (see eBay) on my '74. They fit like the originals. The graphics' font is slightly different from the original but not by much. $65 each plus shipping. Cracked up used OEM ones usually go for more than that. Someone is asking $269 on eBay right now for a NOS one.

The ones from Speed&Sport are paintable plastic and $125 for the pair. Fiberglass is much less durable.

Here are a couple of shots. Don't look at my tank - we have another one patched up, primed, and just about ready for paint to go on this bike. It took around 2.5 to 3 weeks to get the side covers. I crash pretty regularly, and so far so good with these. Rockcat makes a very valid point, though, about plastic ones being more durable.
