I agree, I think your settings are off, it wasn't that big that it should have threw you like that.
Thanks, they say it'll take around 6 weeks to heal. I think the other reason for getting launched like that was because I was sitting down when I hit. I should've been standing or at least have my ass off the seat. Lesson learned.

Like this in hydraulic cylinders using several different grits of honing stones. Takes some time to do but has saved customers thousands of $ this way. I would try it if it was me !
Agree, I have had luck fixing stanctions on WP forks with scratches like this. I used a fine file and emory cloth.

You can try superglue and then smooth w/ emery cloth. This has worked great for me in the past and you may as well try it before you dump a bunch of cash for new legs.

Thanks guys. ...I'm going the sand / polish route for now to see if that works. Kinda' sucks having to install new seals, as I just had the forks rebuilt a month ago!

We'll see how it works, but I definitely don't want to piss away $350 on a new fork tube if I don't have to!

There is no exact standard for just the spacer. But, all the spacers and the spring should be 513 mm long. You may have different spacers on each side if the springs are different length. Not often though.

No pics but the two in each fork leg of mind are: about 1/4" thick and about 1/8"-3/16" thick.

I'm going in for surgery to get a plate put on tomorrow. Should facilitate quicker healing.
