+1 on this. Other than press releases, not a word about this bike. My dealer said they would call me when they get invoiced, which is about a week before delivery. So nothing yet.

Feel free to snub me all you want, call me names, whatever you like, its only the internet!

And you should hear the stuff my wife says about me!

I could not find any good reviews from other countries, its been out in Europe for a year, no?
And other parts of the world have had an sr400 with a carb I think.

Stumbled on a French review of the 2014, opened in Chrome and translated, looks like they had mostly good things to say...

Video I found, you can pause it for some close up shots.
Sure seems like a lot of extra crap on the motor, air injection, evap hoses all over the place, valves and solinoids....

What's your point? Pretty much ALL new road bikes will have that stuff.

The motor was designed to run without that stuff so I don't see a problem taking it off.

Isn't the evap canister, hoses, etc, part of the system which improves the quality of the emissions?

Euro version is tidier than the US version,

Check out the left side view. That honkin' evap canister looks like it weighs 5 pounds

Dealer just called, they are rolling it off the truck now and I'll be picking it up tomorrow!
(I should note that the dealer is 200 hundred miles away, but as I go to that town once a month on business anyway, and I am going there tomorrow, the timing is perfect).
I'll post my impressions later.
Pretty excited!

I won't sleep till I read your writeup!!!!! If I get sick from staying up for days, it'll be your fault. But, seriously, I'm subscribed and am very interested in your comments on the SR.

Wow, ok I'll certainly give my impressions, but I am biased, I've always loved the SR. I rode an SR500 everyday for two years when I was in Japan (92-94), and since this bike has been continuously in production since 78 I can't imagine it will be much different. The MAIN thing I want to comment on is whether the FI has made the starting easier...and of course the 400 is a bit higher revving than the 500...I am sure the fit and finish will be excellent and it'll run just fine.
But, certainly...
Is mine the "first " one?

Cool
