Tks for all the info, guys.

LBS - went to dealer. $200 for wiring stuff, ( e bay and freight fr US nearly as much) so I will be a tight arse and just do a pigtail off the battery with ciggy lighter on it.

Back on the NC after 6 months off, and that engine is great, but the seat is
terrible. I may take it to an upholsterer and get it repacked. No way I can go on
a 4000km trip in Sept otherwise.

That's all I did with a inline fuse to a 12v socket ,works great.

The Battery Tender brand, seems to have adapters for ways to use GPS and other typical devices.

Any thing attached directly to the battery unswitched has the potential to stay on while parked........leaving you stranded with a low or dead battery.......practice your push start skills.

Obvious heated clothing would be the exception since it leaves with the rider

Any and all connections must be fused very very close to the battery post with wiring routing being critical
MORE than one bike or ATV has burned due to sub standard add on wiring

That's good.
The other guys do it on purpose to drain the battery.

I'm quite capable of managing the electrical system and plug-in devices on my bike. I can trust myself to not leave something unswitched on or walk away from the bike with the key left ON but I have made a mistake once in a while with one or the other.

Wiring all loads to switched power doesn't always prevent a dead battery from the number of times I've ridden with folks that killed the battery from using the side stand or kill switch to stop the engine then leave the key ON.

I only use the socket for a GPS. ( rarely ) and a air comp for tires but have the bike running for that.

It is pretty comfy , the seat still needs a little break in time. The pointier part of the dished saddle toward the front on both sides sometimes irritates my legs but I think that will go away in time.

Tall windshield option

I did some highway riding yesterday doing 75 mph. Wind is too much at that speed. What tall windshield option do we have for NC700X?

For what it's worth, before buying anything, try it without a windscreen.

I thought the NC700X was turbulence free until I hopped on my naked FZ6,
and from 3 NC700X owners locally, 2 are riding around without a windscreen
during summer, and one will order a taller one for winter.
