But ok, you can't get those for $2k.
Cruising around 10-11k rpm, 196 mi. Ninja 250 use about 3.6-3.7 gal.; that's about 53-54 mpg. I do have a large 130/90-16 tire on the rear.

I rode an early California from Portland down to the races at Laguna Seca once, and my feet kept vibrating off of the floorboards.
The water pump on my K100 died just before leaving so I borrowed this Goose for the trip. In the rain near Salem I touched the brakes and the linked system locked the rear and hydroplaned me onto the concrete.

Something doesn't look right with that pedal and what appears to be half a sprocket? Where's the drive train?

EDIT:

Is the half sprocket thing part of a kick start?

I think the half sprocket is attached the that kick starter. But what's with pedal sticking out down there. No way it can rotate. Perhaps you have to remove the motor to pedal it.

Yes, that is the kick start. The drive train is on the RH side; you can see the large hoop next to the rear wheel that is a the rear pulley on the belt system.

What intrigued me the most was the throttle. Not a good image of it in the photo, though. It was a twist grip tube around the handlebar, pulling on a lamp cord chain that wound through two small pulleys before activating a lever near the back of the tank, that rotated the throttle in the carb.

Street legal WR450F
Want for those rides that are more challenging trail and less graded gravel and highway.

Or a KTM 500 EXC-F (I'd even "settle" for the 350).
